Happy valley - my DH is a nob - what do we do?!

Having heard great things, me and DH had every intention of starting happy valley tonight from series 1 and going all the way through. Watched the first episode, found it hard to follow at times but managed to make sense of it and enjoyed it. Went back to the Home Screen of iplayer only to find that DH had somehow managed to put on series 2 episode 1! So we have started series 2 without having watched series 1. What should we do?!

a) carry on with series 2 in the hope it will still make sense
b) go back to series 1 in the hope it hasn’t been entirely ruined by the self-imposed spoiler

You must go back, the story runs through the 3 series.

Throw him out. Don't replace him until you have watched HV 1-3 in sequence, alone and uninterrupted. Really necessary to see them all. You won't regret it.

Yes we did! Thought it was a bit odd. We went back to series 1 as advised and I am thoroughly enjoying it (albeit mildly disturbed by how graphic it is!)

Have considered it, not gonna lie

I think series 1 is the most graphic, it put me off watching further, but I did in the end.

Series 1 is graaaaphiic.but bloody brilliant and it is essential you go back and watching first.yoj will love it so much more. Feel more. Want to throw up more😆 when you have net the characters and why they are as they are.so much of the background and story is in series 1!

Im still annoyed that I avoided it in the past thinking it was a soap

I accidentally watched the final episode of ‘maternal’ thinking it was the first and was thinking it was quite confusing….until
i realised it was the denouement and much had been explained in the previous 5 episodes! Agh!

did go back and watch but was a bit annoying to know the ‘ending’ with lots of things resolved in the finale!
