Alan seems to think he’s in some version of Macbeth, grandstanding in an exceptionally overdone manner, calling everyone “dear heart”. Wittering on like a budget Dr Evil.

Yes he's ruining it for me, I wish Claudia had done the US version as well. Only on episode 2 and Christian is annoying me too much already.

Finally watched this, over two days.

I'd heard it wasn't as good as the UK one and I did find it less satisfying, although equally addictive. Funny how Faithful Brits were usually hurt when wrongly accused and the Americans were usually angry. Also, banished Brits didn't do a "you got played, ha ha" revenge thing on departure.

Alan's outfits deserved their own show. Did he remind anyone else of Richard O'brien in The Crystal Maze?

Yes one woman’s banishment was so juvenile, flicking the middle finger and calling everyone names.

I'm sure she and her arch nemesis were only in there to stir the pot. Couldn't decide if I liked it or not.

Not watched the whole series yet so I've scrolled past the spoilers, but I came on to say OMG yes @TheObstinateHeadstrongGirl the way Alan says "dollars" sets my teeth on edge! WTF is wrong with his accent? He didn't used to sound like that.

I'm finding the little differences to the UK version really interesting eg that it looks like they're all sleeping in the castle where the UK version had them driven away.

The Aussie one is interesting too (not finished, no spoilers!). It's got a different aesthetic, none of the Harry Potter/Agatha Christie feel. The Traitors lounging around in comfy chairs??

I've only seen one episode so everything could change. So far, it looks as though people are really in it to win, they don't forget this even as Faithfuls, and they don't seem to be forging friendships, so that might make less interesting viewing. Only a first impression, though.

The host is kind of dull too.

I actually googled Alan to check if he was Scottish because I had been sure he was, but that accent made me doubt it!

I've noticed that there hasn't been loads of talk about what they'd do with the money if they won. I think Andi mentioned once about their wife and baby, but in the UK one, Wilf was banging on about it every episode.

Which channel/service is the Aussie one on please?

But I'm struggling with it, to be honest. The editing is horrid, the aesthetic is boring, the challenges aren't very exciting, the host is dull and completely indistinguishable from the players and the contestants are just not very interesting to watch. I found the UK and US versions addictive and I didn't realise you could make the format this dull. I'm not at all excited about the next episode (I've watched three) and I'm thinking I might...give up?

Ok I might avoid it then. I don’t want anything to spoil the series for me! One of the things I’ve most enjoyed watching in last few years.

Another thing I noticed about the US one, they haven't given their ages. I like that.
