I've watched 4 out of the 6 episodes and I'm really enjoying it. It's set in Naples in the 90s, and it's about a teenage girl who makes contact with her estranged aunt, who her parents warn her is nothing but trouble. She decides to find out the truth for herself, about her aunt, but also about so much more

It's filmed in Italian but dubbed into American English. Great performances and a really engaging story.

I'm not too sure about this. I liked the look of it, even the scuzzy bits of Naples have a certain charm. I think its possibly better than I found it and I'm just too old to have patience with so much teenage angst. Beautifully crafted and acted so I think it's me that's out of sync.

Tbh, I only started watching because I went to Naples in October and LOVED it! Could do with some more lovely location shots to be honest

Now 4 episodes into My Brilliant Friend. On Prime but have to pay extra. Also by Elena Ferrante. Set in earlier period post war Naples, similar theme but more extensively developed. I'm enjoying it a lot. Recommend

I just started watching it and will sort of enjoy maybe, but not so sure solely because I feel it is pretty damaged by the dubbing into English with American accents. Sub titles are so much better for the Italian language and the Neapolitan dialect.
