To be fair, Denise was always the more pragmatic reasonable one than Kim is ; she had a tough life and it's taught her to be the one who is sensible and level headed ( apart from the time she didn't ask for help when she was going to a food bank and almost bankrupt/ starving )
She got her GCSE too and now a successful business owner
Her and Jack are the odd couple.

Have the scriptwriters forgotten that Denise was an alcoholic too? She seems to be drinking a lot recently and no one seems to be batting an eyelid!
