Enjoying not seeing Madley on my TV this morning. Gordon Smart is a joy to watch.

I really like Gordon on his podcast with Martin Compston, he has decent craic.

I don't usually watch GMB but have watched on purpose yesterday and today to see how Gordon did on it (huge fan of the restless natives podcast) - thought he was really natural, hope they give him some more work on there. I know a lot of people are unhappy about his background (former Sun journo) but everyone deserves a second chance.

I had a go with the podcast but struggled to make it through the thick accents.. 😂

By thick accents do you mean Martin Compston and Gordon Smart?

Is English not your first language?

TitsInAbsentia · 31/12/2022 16:29

Compston does go full hingy when he's chatting to Gordon but I love their accents, probably helps I have a lot of scottish friends so it sounds familiar to me!

onthego24 · 01/01/2023 09:44

@Autumnnewname Yes it is but some of it is fast broad Scot's. It's in no way a criticism.

Loved when Charlotte called him “Martin” 🤣

Ah ok. You mean like Eastenders and needing subtitles to understand their garbled accents

I get it

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 02/01/2023 11:26

I love how broad Martin goes on the podcast and it can be a bit fast at times to keep up with but as a Geordie I’m reasonably well versed in fast strong accents.
