Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything - should she not have bothered?

Am I the only one who thinks this is the most disappointing “comedy” in living memory? I’m so cross because I love Ardal O’Hanlan and Pauline McLynne - and Sheridan Smith used to be ok. This show is deeply unfunny and the dialogue and “plot” totally unrealistic, IMO. Anyone see the point of it?

I couldn’t watch it. Sheridan Smith chewed the scenery. And no personality from Ardal O’Hanlon and Pauline O’Hanlan.

Stupid stereotyping of the drunk Irish Father & idiot Irish mother.

And they tried to pass off Rosie as 35😀 we binged it and it didn't get any better.

I gave up on it. The worst thing I've watched in years, which was disappointing given the cast.

So glad I’m not the only one - with how much it’s been hyped, I was beginning to think it was me losing my sense of humour!

It was written by Susan Nicolsan? She wrote two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, so we weren't expecting anything too deep, it just didn't go anywhere and the ending was utter rubbish.

I liked 2 Pints a lot - but I guess that was a long time ago!

Oh i really enjoyed this. The bit where she was off her tits talking to the tree had me in fits! Also quite sad on places with the whole alcoholism running in families thing. And I do like watching Sheridan Smith.

Mrsjayy · 21/12/2022 07:27

I got all that about dysfunctional families and we watched it all so obviously it wasn't that bad , but I felt something was missing 😕

I’m intrigued. Genuine question - do you know anyone who actually talks or behaves anything like these characters? I find programmes annoying if there’s no believability whatsoever (as well as lack of laughs) but I do realise everyone is different!

I found her annoying and selfish. It wasn't funny at all. Just depressing and a bit too close to home for me, my dad was an alcoholic.
