i think i would like it but is so the wrong time for me and have only seen it once.

i bet i would have cried though.

yummylittlelapin · 02/02/2008 11:11

Oh it was lovely. And wasn't her brother sweet?! I heart David Mitchell

burstingbug · 02/02/2008 11:13

Is it a repeat or a new series?

preggersagain · 02/02/2008 11:13

ooh- its the highlight on my saturday morning- watch it on iplayer in peace in my office

I love Jam and Jerusalem- just think Jennifer Saunders' character is hilarious- the subtle gags are brilliant- enjoying spit-roasting with her dh etc!!

I didn't cry though

WanderingTrolley · 02/02/2008 11:14

I loved that you could feel everyone inwardly groan when he got up to speak, then he was rather lovely.

And I loved his threat to the Spike.

"I know how to save lives, and I know how to kill too."

WanderingTrolley · 02/02/2008 11:15

Yes, the spit roasting.

Last series, didn't she go 'dogging?'

yummylittlelapin · 02/02/2008 11:15

WT, that was exactly it!

I loved all the fairy wings etc.

fullmoonfiend · 02/02/2008 11:34

I would have adored a weding like that....
But I reckon Tashie would have adored my wedding (medieval frock, hogroast, by a stream etc)

That programme is a bit of a hidden gem IMO. I only ever watched it originally because of the Kate Rusby music and then got hooked...Was delighted to see the cameo appearance of Kate as the wedding singer!

I did, I hate the idea that people should to conform to a norm for their weddings. It was perfect.

And yes did giggle at the spitroast

fullmoonfiend · 02/02/2008 11:37

And I cried at Tashie's face when her mum gave her the mobile-library van!

Oh bugger I missed it, for the last two weeks as well, drat.....

preggersagain · 02/02/2008 11:42

seem to remember her going dogging last series i enjoyed the arctic monkeys gags thgat ran through a couple of episodes where her 'rock group' son was friends with them but she could never get the name right- freezing gorillas etc!! but they were always practising in the garage.

preggersagain · 02/02/2008 11:42

frizbe- both episodes are still on iplayer i think!

fullmoonfiend · 02/02/2008 11:48

harpsichordcarrier · 02/02/2008 12:04

oh it's fantastic
last night was wonderful, very touching

Daisymoo · 02/02/2008 12:05

I watched the very first episode and thought it was pants and gave up (apart from the music). Saw last night's and think I might have given up too soon...

fullmoonfiend · 02/02/2008 12:05

so pleased, I have no-one in RL to talk about it with...

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 02/02/2008 12:11

did you see KAte Rusby last night?
she looked so miserable
my favourite line was Jennifer Saunders at Glastonbury
"sorry I have to go, the MAgic Numbers are trying to talk to me about SWingball"
then showing them the technique

fullmoonfiend · 02/02/2008 12:14

Kate always looks miserable tbh. But then all her songs a re a bit ''poor young wench gets up duff and dies'' or ''I'll stand here and wait for my true love to return from the seas....'' so no wonder really!
I love her voice so much!

The Glasto episode was fabulous!

I loved it too, just wish it hadn't finished. I do hope they do another series. DH isn't too keen though.

Frizbe · 02/02/2008 12:25

ponders if it'll be out on dvd?

yummylittlelapin · 02/02/2008 12:28

was that Kate Rusby performing at the wedding? I've just downloaded the theme tune

JackieNo · 02/02/2008 12:28

We loved it too - I welled up at the libraray van as well. Fab series.
