OK, this is close to my heart, but how much is anorexia glamorised?
Is it really worth eating your own heart to lose a few pounds?

I dont mean to offend anyone who is naturally slim, but ED's are so different.

I am in Scotland and am currently involved with a few agencies regarding mental health problems.

Please lets help each other survive eating disorders.

There is alot of help out there, but how many do we have in our own family who really need help?

Please just ask, 'I see things are hard, are you ok?'

I am quite far along the way to finding a life after anorexia. It is not easy, but we deserve more.

Please dont let me feel alone

Blanki,

I have no personal experience with eds but I'm happy to listen if you want to talk

Don't feel alone.

blanki · 01/02/2008 23:02

Boys, do you suffer, struggle yourself or is that an offer of help and support?

I hope the latter.

I am not alone in my struggle, lets lose the shame and claim our lives and that of our children back.

Be strong, speak out, go on

Help and support, Blanki.

I have no experience of ED but please, talk if you want to

blanki · 01/02/2008 23:07

Cheers slur for your support in this life threatining illness. I hope you have no personal experience with ED's and their awful life long effects.
We all deserve to be happy, and I do not say that without alot of therapy.

Wish you and yours well....

Boys , as slur, but many thanks from all of us who have battled with ED's, or had friends or family battle with.

I could talk for a million miles if I thought it wiuld help an individual or their family or friends. This is not an easy subject and I do not have all the answers, but I have hope. Because of my own experience I know there is another way.

We all deserve to be happy, regardless of our past.

Cheers ladies for your support, I hope we can encourage more young peoplr to talk.

I, thankfully am well on my way to recovery. But I remember only too well being alone, or feeling so and the whole bloody size zero debate makes you feel like a fat b! Please reassure me that I am not on my own and that my weight/bmi is actually ok.
