So, I’ve just been watching this week’s Mastermind, and a couple of things have had me wondering….

1 - the James guy. He was very familiar to me, and I googled him, to find out he was on a team which won University Challenge a couple of years ago. Do the BBC approach people who have been on other shows, and ask them to be on things like Mastermind, does anyone know? Or do
they just find that people enjoy doing quiz shows??

2 - it was a very high scoring episode. It seems a bit unfair that even the person in 4th would have won other shows - and that they are just ‘out’. Wouldn’t it be fairer to do a repêchage type situation on highest losers? Would mean that the strongest people go through.

I’m now, once again, musing on what my subjects would be! 🤣

Haha! I have just finished my backshift, and come on to look about Mastermind - because I know the person who won this week!
I knew that they would be on, but didn't know what the outcome was, and am very excited for them. I will ask them your questions, and see if they know.
Looking forward to them being on again.

What is repêchage?

Sorry @SiobhanSharpe - repêchage is where the best losers (highest scoring, in this case), get to have another match, to get into the next round.
