Season two dropped on Netflix today. It's silly and soapy but I'm unwell and can't be arsed with anything too serious right now so I'm binge-watching. Anyone else watching?

I thought Kate was a bitch to cut Tully off like that and I was furious that she wouldn't let Tully pay her respects to her dad - wtf!! If I was Tully I'd not forgive her for that.

Yes Tully shouldn't have driven over the limit but the fact that Mara was at the party wasn't her fault and the sodding accident wasn't her fault!!

Surely Mara would have taken responsibility for all of it given it was her fault. My only annoyance would have been that if you're looking after someone's teen dd then it's fairly obvious not to drink incase of emergency pick ups but Tully isn't a parent so maybe just didn't think.

I also knew that rash would be cancer, the ending where Kate realised that she did actually need her best mate after all was well done and I felt a bit teary.

I actually think the lead actresses (both young and middle-aged) are very good and do a lot with what's a fairly paltry script. And they're genuinely believable as best friends.

How did I miss the 10 years later part?? Now Netflix is throwing me off when I try to go back to it

Just finished it tonight and didn't want to read this just in case spoilers were mentioned. I think 10 years time will be Marah's wedding and Tully is the person that marries them.

It was underwhelming and drawn out but still had me sobbing in places and I can't wait for the next round.

This is exactly what I thought. What right did Kate have to refuse Tully to attend the funeral.

But it was a big long drag out from season 1 including the accident, so we were led to believe that the funeral was as a result of the accident imo.

It just irritated me as it was so drawn out.

Just finished it and completely underwhelmed as well, although I do like the name 'wigmagheddon', @KillingMeDeftly .

All very contrived and dragged out. The reaction after the crash was ludicrous - why on earth wouldn't you at least give Tully a chance to explain before cutting her off? And why then be so cross she turned up months later for Bud's funeral? He was the only father figure Tully had ever known. Absolute nonsense. Against all the odds I would quite like it if Kate buggered off to Europe with the new bloke in the 80s and didn't come back. God knows why she wanted to marry Johnny once, let alone twice. I'm definitely not watching another 9 episodes of her 80s self deciding to chuck everything away to marry the fright wig.

Just finished it. I agree with the poster who said the wedding will be Tully marrying Danny and Johnny giving her away or officiating. Tully had an engagement ring on in that last clip. I have to say I love the show. Mindless entertainment so its right up my street. I'll definitely watch the rest of the series in June.

I'm late to this, but Kate is a bitch. Self centred little cow. She ditched Tully everytime she got a boyfriend, was going to move in with Johnny without letting her know.

The reaction over the car crash was totally unrealistic. She should have been distraught that both her best friend and her daughter had been injured.

I was so pleased Tully managed to escape her at the end. I wouldn't speak to her ever again.

Major plot fail was that Tully had no other friends. Tully was fun, friendly and generous she would have had loads of friends unlike Kate who was selfish and self centred. The irony of Kate saying Tully always makes everything about her !!!

And then more recently Tully is famous and rich - friends would not be hard to come by! Maybe it's clearer in the book that Tully didn't make friends because she doesn't trust anyone after her appalling childhood?

Agree Kate was acting completely unrealistically with cutting Tully off. not her fault Mara lied, said she was with others and that she called and needed immediate rescue. Tully was right to do that. The car accident being driven into by someone else wasn’t her fault either! That could have just as easily happened to her collecting Mara from the cinema..

It could be Danny’s wedding to the boyfriend and Tully’s giving him away- though I agree we have been set up to think it will be Tully and Danny as she’s wearing white. It would be too gross for her to be marrying Jonny. They need Kate to survive to make another series so I don’t think her character will die.

I found Tulllys level of fame in the story and her and Kate’s apparent friendlessness hard to understand. Like getting the immediate documentary funding and yet being able to travel around Seattle totally incognito all the time and yet Kate’s new friend recognizing Tully on campus. And if Kate and Tully really were tv industry hot shots they would have had a ton of work friends each also. It’s not a monastic job where you toil in the studio then go back to your bed.

Also Kate cutting her off like that, that whole plot line was totally inexplicable and made the end of the series very unrealistic. I really wanted to like the whole show because I really love Katherine Heigl and I want to watch shows with female leads about friendship so I stuck with it but I did kind of wonder what a great comic actress like KH was doing in this series by the time of the big fall out.

iAlso as I mostly watched it on low volume with captions- the name Marah in the captions drove me a bit nuts-that name surely would be prn like ‘Sarah’ not ‘ Sara. That bit of pedantry is possibly not the writer’s fault though..

My only issue is cloud as an older lady. She just looks like she’s got make up on to look old, it’s comical

Yes, I don't know why they cast someone younger than Katherine Heigl to play her mum. Or why not use Beau Garrett in the flashbacks and someone older for the current day.

I discovered it was available last night and am trying to work out whether to binge on that first or working moms. Probably have them both done over the bank holiday!
