I cannot have been the only one. Who else just watched the finale? I was blown away. It's outclassed every other Star Wars show handily. It's left The Mandalorian in the dust, and I love Mando.

It's definitely the Star Wars show for grown-ups; much grittier and more character driven than any other. Diego Luna was excellent.

Yes I thought it was superb too. Bit like Rogue One, it paints a far more realistic picture of the empire and galaxy than pretty much any SW film or series, it’s dark, grimy and menacing.

Andy Serkis character was absolutely brilliant as well. Must admit I was slightly lost in all the subtle twists in the last couple of episodes so might have to revisit them.

Roll on season 2.

It was alright. My husband is a huge Star Wars fan and loved it. I really didn't like Rogue One though for a lot of reasons that would take too long to list, so I doubt that helped.

Andy Serkis... yep... just a huge chef's kiss over that performance. He was incredible.

When I went back and rewatched Rogue One what I really noticed is that the Cassian of Rogue One has this solid core of purpose. It's in everything; the way he moves, the way he speaks. I was really struck by how hollow the Cassian of the start of Andor seemed without that purpose. I've read a bit of criticism saying that Cassian was too peripheral to his own series, but I think that's discounting the extent to which the series was character-driven and that Diego Luna's work was subtle rather than showy; no big breakdowns or scenery-chewing apeeches.

Also: Maarva. What a badass. Fiona Shaw kills in everything she's in.

And it was nice to have a show that really engaged us after sticking it out through the disappointment of Book of Boba Fett and the wet squib of Kenobi.

I loved it. Cassian is one of my favourite characters in the Star Wars universe. He’s many shades of grey in a world dominated by light v dark. I have been thinking about his back story in my head since the day I first watched Rogue One, so I’m delighted by this series.

Agree Kenobi was a pile of cheesy crap, Book of Boba not much better.
Mandolorian has been ok though.

Just rewatched the episode where they bust out of Narkina 5 and you have those blockbuster speeches by both Andy Serkis and Stellan Skarsgard. This series just kills in every way. I hope it gets some awards recognition.

Agree it was really excellent. I didn't get on with any of the other spin-offs, even mandolorian, but Andor was just great and the last few episodes were so grippingly exciting. Can't wait for S2 and to binge the whole thing through to Rogue One.

That moment with him at the end though!! I really enjoyed it. Not a huge huge Star Wars fan of recent things but was more drawn into this...and everything looked good! That shot of them swimming away from the prison too...the last episode. Lots of things going on

I did genuinely really enjoy Mando. Pedro Pascal did sterling work and the story of a working single dad just trying to take care of his baby Yoda was fun and touching. This series has genuinely knocked it into a cocked hat and raised the Star Wars bar all around, though.
