Jews Don't Count

Fascinating program on C4. I think I grew up in a place where we didn't have a big Jewish community so I didn't see antisemitism. I became aware of it later in life. I only know a couple of Jewish people so this doesn't form a part of my everyday life.
A really interesting hour understanding many points of view on this subject. Good viewing.

Thanks for the recommendation. I never really considered this before. Not impressed with Whoopie G acting as if she owns the term racism.

Badiel seems to be in a synagogue without a skullcap though which annoys me.

I found it really interesting and it was very relatable to my experience of being Jewish. I have been on the receiving end of antisemitism at work and when I was I was a member of a local choir. There have been so many micro-aggressions I couldn’t possibly begin to count them. Because I’m white it really feels as if it isn’t viewed as racism. I have been told on here that I am not a different race (despite my DNA ancestry test coming back as 100% European Jewish) and that I have no idea what it’s like to experience racism in the same way those who are black, brown or recognisably of a different heritage do.

the stereotypes of Jews being rich, controlling media, finance, politics etc is not my experience. My family were poor. My DM was a secretary, my DF had an electrical repair shop. My siblings are teachers. I live in social housing and retired early due to Ill health. My experience of being of a minority ethnicity in this country and any prejudice I’ve encountered over the years, definitely feels as if it is totally unimportant, doesn’t matter or even count.
