BBC iplayer Five Bedrooms - Ben

I've recently started watching this and am on S2. I started off really liking Ben, he's a handsome guy who manages to bring everyone together, looks out for everyone, demonstrably caring and good at talking about his feelings.

However, it's crept upon me very slowly, how pushy he is about initially wanting to sleep with Heather, and then wanting a relationship with her. He dismisses her concerns, and even when she breaks up with him, just keeps badgering her for a relationship. The guy just won't give up and will not take no for an answer.

I'm starting to think he has no respect for her boundaries, and is an expert at manipulation.

If you've watched the series, what are your thoughts, if any?

Yes but was almost manipulated into sleeping with him in the beginning despite her saying no quite clearly. He kept persisting till she gave in. What a creep.

Just watched this - and I know this is a zombie thread - but I've got nowt better to do this evening! I thought that it was obvious Heather really fancied Ben (the pool shot) - but was very concerned about her age. She was 50, he was 35 - she didn't want to look old, sad and desperate, foolish. She didn't believe he could possibly be serious about here - especially since he'd previously slept with Liz who was ten years (?) younger and very beautiful. So no - I don't think Ben acted out of line.

No, not seeing that at all about Ben. He just made it clear he fancied her, when she was obviously doubting the whole thing.

I've watched all 4 series and the whole Ben/Heather thing pans out in an interesting way. I think she's very conscious that she's come out of a long term marriage with adult or nearly adult DC and she's cautious. His relationship with his ex wife is also a factor (trying to avoid spoilers here!). Keep watching!

The latest series currently shown on Friday afternoons on BBC1 is awful. Just repetitive really. First two series were so much better. As to Ben and Heather she obv fancied him and liked the fact a younger man fancied her back.
