Interesting stuff but I cannot believe that the guy who opened the box and stole the money would do that, and then see nothing wrong in what he did!

I finished watching this today. I was flabbergasted by his reaction too, but he did admit doing wrong in the third episode. There were a lot of moral challenges in the series.
