I have very high hopes for Hamza, it's great music to dance to.

Aljaz was cast as the dodgy ballroom dancer in the film of Matilda the Musical but ended up on the cutting room floor.

RangerHamzaHasTheRangeDarling · 08/11/2022 21:40

That arrangement of Snow patrol is new to me. Very Xmas advert.
Molly may get a bottom two bounce and that Whitney track is nice for a rumba.
So yes, Ellie T out based on music alone. Lawd knows what outfit poor mare will be in this week.

EvilRingahBitch · 08/11/2022 21:41

I see the thinking behind Friendship for a Charleston but surely it's way too slow.

RangerHamzaHasTheRangeDarling · 08/11/2022 21:42

Yes, I read that. Poor Aljaz. Must be gutting.

ArcaneWireless · 08/11/2022 21:46

I’ve already bought my cheeky vimto gubbins for Hamza’s dance.

I have a feeling I’ll be standing up and shaking my fat. I do hope so.

EsmaCannonball · 08/11/2022 22:03

There was a video where Vito revealed that back home he has a dog, cat, snake, parrot, duck and goat, so I'd envisaged his mother as some kind of Neapolitan nonna, feeding chickens and making her own cheese. I did not expect the Real Housewife of Naples.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 08/11/2022 22:03

@FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge
.... More so after mentioning that you would breathe a sigh of relief if there was an end to the singling out of Neil.

I didn’t object to the singling out of Neil, ie the where’s Neil thing, I objected to the nasty comments that have sometimes been made about him, this series and in previous years. I don’t remember the names of all the posters who made the comments, and wouldn’t mention them if I did, same as I didn’t attach a name to the “puts the Brits to shame” comment.

FuzzyPuffling · 09/11/2022 07:31

Just to help you, I mentioned N as in yelling his name when I spotted him I often followed it up with the rider that I quite like N. But I promised never to mention him again, as seeing a favourite and pointing them out is clearly too shocking.

However I do not like steak pie.

SoupDragon · 09/11/2022 07:35

A lot of the Neil Spotting was followed up by nastiness though.

Lentilweaver · 09/11/2022 07:38

Totally out of touch with modern music so had not heard Jerusalema. It's lovely. Appear to be several different versions? I think Hamza will do really well with this.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 09/11/2022 07:47

nomdegrrr1 · 08/11/2022 21:05

Really looking forward to Jerusalema. I went through a spell of watching the videos on YouTube where policemen, nuns, aircraft crew, etc were dancing to it. There was like a set dance they were following. I wonder how much Hamza and Jowita will follow that.

i did the same
it was amazing to watch

MrsLargeEmbodied · 09/11/2022 07:50

it is a prayer

Most of the people doing g the Neil spotting are making fun of him though, not pointing out a favourite.

xsquared · 09/11/2022 08:12

I worry about Hamza doing couple's choice but having seen him on ITT, it sounds likes he and Jowita will have something that makes us smile.

SolInvictus · 09/11/2022 08:24

I hadn't heard the song before either, but after listening to it last night, it's gone on my Spotify.
One of few times the thought of CC makes me excited rather then omfgwhatnow.

@Mrsjayy

I didn’t mention a specific poster by name, I just picked out the bit about Vito’s mum “putting the Brits to shame” because I thought it was daft, that’s all.

You may not have mentioned me by name, but you quoted my post and so I got an alert.
Honestly, there are quite a few comments on these threads that one could call ‘daft’ (I don’t mean that as an insult or a negative, fellow lovely posters); it’s a lighthearted chat about a telly show.

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 09/11/2022 09:34

I agree DameHelena we all have different opinions, they may not be to everyone’s taste but I love that we can come on here and voice them.

I am terribly childish sometimes, I admit it. And sometimes I can say things out of turn. But ultimately we all love Strictly or we wouldn’t be here year after year.

Thank you. Honest to God, I meant it as SUCH an innocuous comment (I forgot about it practically the second I hit post), and now I keep thinking that perhaps it signified something much more profound/upsetting/offensive... Confused Grin

It was fine. I know what you meant.

RobertsRadio · 09/11/2022 12:13

I like Neil. Looking at some of the YouTube videos of him made me realise what an incredible dancer he was/is. I hope he gets a partner in the next series, or is he considered too old or past his best by the Strictly bosses? I mean in the ballroom world would 40 be considered to be past your best? What do those of you with dancing knowledge think?

BTW, I also love me a meat pie and hot bovril.

Emotionalsupportviper · 09/11/2022 12:19

I'm really fancying a cup of bovril now..

MavisChunch29 · 09/11/2022 12:38

I'm a big football fan. The equivalent for me to Tony Adams would be someone like Bryan Robson or Eric Cantona, but I would still never vote for them if they made as many mistakes as Tony did on Sunday. I have allegiances but I'm not blinkered.

And I did vote for Tony one week as I geniunely enjoyed the performance, and he wasn't the worst then.

MavisChunch29 · 09/11/2022 12:40

I don't think Neil is as sharp as the other dancers, for me. He's better than Anton or James Jordan were but still not quite as a good IMO. I did think he was good a few years ago when he joined.
