Thanks to @lazymum99

i had missed this

UKTV channel, Alibi, has announced its first ever Nordic Noir acquisition.
From Iceland, Black Sands (Svörtu sandar) is an eight-episode series starring Aldís Amah Hamilton.

Anita, a DI in her thirties, is forced to return to the hometown she fled 14 years ago. A reckoning with her mother is inescapable, but when the body of a young woman is found, everything is upended. Anita is dragged down into the dark abyss of her past, looking for a possible serial killer and the reckoning turns into a nightmare.

The series mainly revolves around Aníta Elínardóttir, a young police detective who’s kind of “pushed out” of the Reykjavík police force but allowed to work in her old home town named Glerársandar.

There she needs to confront her mother after not seeing her for 15 years, as well as meet with all the people she left behind.

Including her old love interest, Salomon and her father figure, Ragnar.

Many would call it a crime series but we always felt it was more a family-drama, depicting how toxic family relations can become if left unresolved as well as… other… things.

Thanks

I think I must have watched episode 2 but actually been so tired I dont remember doing it.

So can catch up and wait for 3.

I still dont think its great, but seems very little worth tuning in to.

Yes a little slow but watchable

Just started this on catch up. Icelandic stuff is generally decent, I think. I preferred Arctic Circle to Wisting by some distance.

But yeah, it is a bit slow, and the music is LOUD!
