Anyone else watching?

Found it on iplayer this evening. DH is out so I'm already on episode 4.

After the phone shot in episode 1 of "Does anyone else's husband give them the ick so bad it makes their fanny dry up" I was expecting more MN gems in each episode. Bit disappointed there aren't. But I'm still assuming that the premise is all from here? Fairly certain the "can't believe she didn't give us a lift" is a real thread.

We've watched all episodes on iplayer (don't usually binge and hadn't realised we weren't as far behind as we thought so watched last ep on Tuesday) definitely a few tropes. Lots of plot twists. Love a character then they do something unlovable. Clever. Funny. Not nice!

Itstarts · 29/10/2022 00:33

See what you mean! Just pressed play on ep.5.

I hated every single minute of this. Unlikeable characters, implausible plot and generally not enjoyable to watch
I don't understand the love for DMC on here

Stichintime · 29/10/2022 00:46

I found it good to start, but seemed to rapidly go down hill for the last couple of episodes.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 29/10/2022 00:53

I don't like DMC at all so for me to enjoy this was a minor miracle, I thought it was great but didn't particularly like her cast in it. I was totally hooked though and hinged the entire lot.

Itstarts · 29/10/2022 01:00

It's an easy binge watch though. Sometimes it's nice to watch something easy.

I watched the while thing but just couldn't really get into it. I didn't find many of the characters likeable at all so I think that probably didn't hook me in.

hockeygrass · 29/10/2022 14:08

@Itstarts , if you follow the Am I being unreasonable spoiler thread in this section a couple of weeks ago DMC screen shot a post from it on her Insta! She is reading all the show threads (i expect but obviously don't know)!

Undecidedandtorn · 29/10/2022 16:02

I've just finished watching the whole thing and thought it was excellent. I'd never seen the main actress before in anything so had no preconceptions.

Reallybadidea · 29/10/2022 16:06

I really enjoyed it. Not what I was expecting at all, but very original and unpredictable.

Cheerfulcharlie · 30/10/2022 23:41

I loved this so much. DMC is an absolute legend. Actually all the characters and acting were great but I just loved the storyline and the twists. The only thing that is bugging me is the location where the memorial service was filmed. It looks so familiar but I can't think where it is. Must be the Cotswolds. Anyone know?

Sindonym · 31/10/2022 00:08

Just finished episode 4 after starting yesterday. Am loving it. Forced myself to not watch final two tonight, which was the right decision because one of my grown up sons FaceTimed ten mins after to tell me has a girlfriend 😁(which is a first - the telling us anyway).

Looking forward to final two episodes tomorrow.

Dartmoorcheffy · 31/10/2022 00:12

I loved it. Totally scripted from threads on here but cleverly done. Great ending too.

Apart from the bit where she was posting on a forum what other bits were scripted from MN? I found it odd that it was called AIBU as it didn't seem to tie in with anything else in the series apart from that.

hockeygrass · 31/10/2022 11:35

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor , it's so influenced by MN - there are constant threads in AIBU where the original posters is deluded by the reality of her situation, love triangles, dh being u faithful, MNetters trying to jump in with advice to make a domestic situation better when the victim refuses to acknowledge it etc etc

Jemnnnnnop · 01/11/2022 18:53

Who is dmc btw?

hockeygrass · 01/11/2022 19:47

@Jemnnnnnop Daisy May Cooper!

Jemnnnnnop · 01/11/2022 20:01

What’s she been in?

hockeygrass · 01/11/2022 20:55

@Jemnnnnnop , follow her on Insta and you will see.

icelolly99 · 12/11/2022 00:39

@Cheerfulcharlie looks like Chavenage House... been used in a quite a few TV/films including Poldark.

username8888 · 12/11/2022 19:43

What I don't get (maybe i dozed of when it was shown) is how a common as muck eastender type character, which an equally common husband not apparently in some high flying job, can afford to live in a fabulous house in the Cotswolds (?) that must cost over a million? Not a snob but its just so unlikely. Did they win the lottery and I slept through it?

It is funny though
