Anyone watching/watched this? It’s based on the true story of Pam Hupp (played by Renee Zellwegger) who murdered her best friend and framed her (the best friend’s) husband.

I have. Not sure I enjoyed the comedic aspect of it. I read the family were completely against it, understandably.

I agree the comedic aspects were OTT but that first trial if an accurate portrayal was an absurd farce.

Agree it's interesting enough without the Desperate house style narrative.

I’ve become quite fascinated by the case and have since listened to the Dateline podcasts which I hadn’t done before. She appears to be a pretty classic psychopathic narcissist, thinks she is better and cleverer than everyone else. She killed her so called best friend for financial gain. The way she drip fed into her police interviews (when she was still a witness rather than a suspect would have had her outed as a troll in AIBU in no time.

I have fallen down a rabbit hole too. I may have a listen to dateline too.

I am glad it didn't go all Watcher and actually kept the events fairly close to what happened.

The court case against Russ was actually shocking.

The scenes of her husband and son not daring to ask her to move when they were watching a game showed her narcissism well I thought. Just horrific behaviour to her daughter though.
