The Big Bang theory & young sheldon

So I've been really unwell with Covid and my dd 10 has been watching young Sheldon !
So I thought I'd watch with her and then liking that decided I needed to watch the Big Bang theory ... how and why did I miss it ?! It does really cheer me up lol
Did anyone else discover it by accident and enjoy it ( both shows )

I much prefer Young Sheldon. Sheldon in BBT is just an unlikable jerk but I like him when he’s young. I like his family and peripheral characters like Pastor Jeff as well.

I love both TBBT and Young Sheldon- TBBT went a bit off towards the end - prefer the earlier episodes sometimes but both series well worth a watch. I was quite late to TBBT but it's great when you have a load of episodes to get stuck into!

@uhtredbebbanburg I like the gran character she is funny I think I prefer TBBT cast as his friends are just hilariously bad

So happy about! I've not seen the whole of season 1 yet so know I've got some good watching ahead

TBBT made me cross with all the racism and sexism, however it also made me cry with laughter many times. I watched the whole lot with dd and we were both bereft when it ended.

The actress playing his mum in young Shelton is the daughter of the actress that plays his mum in Big Bang.
So good casting.

So happy to find a not-yet-zombie thread on this - my DP and I just finished BBT tonight and I feel bereft. It was a great ending. I think it was time to finish but for me it stayed great to the end - always able to subvert my expectations and deliver a laugh and a good feeling.
We started with Young Sheldon too, which is a really good show in its own right. Still have 2 series to watch and season 4 is about to come available on More 4 (I think).

I loved the first 4-5 seasons of TBBT, then it just got a bit weird and lacking in humour. They also had no idea what to do with Raj once he was able to talk to women.

I much prefer Young Sheldon - i think because it doesn't have the laughter audience, it's more subtle in the humour. Missy and George Jr are bloody brilliant, and I love the dad. To be honest, the biggest problem that YS has is that they've made the dad so nice and supportive, which is completely against the description of how Sheldon talked about his family in TBBT

I watched it for the first time last year, my 11 year old loves young Sheldon
