YEY. just seen the new season is starting 23 October. I binge watched the others earlier in the month so can’t wait for it to start again. The ending was a shocker that I didn’t see coming. I can’t wait to see where they’re taking it. Will serena joy get let go because she was under his orders AND she’s having a baby. Or will she get put into jail and baby taken away when he’s born.

Yes I gave up and will watch it properly tomorrow. Dd did not go to bed as easily as she could have 😡

Serena's not looking so smug now.... Hope this means there's more story to come between Serena and June.

I'm really lost now. Why would Canada just allow Serena to stay?? Is she no longer a prisoner??

Yes Aunt Lydia had dirt on Commander Laurence. I can't quite remember what it was but basically she blackmailed him into getting her position back.

Im confused also, I thought she was going to be charged with crimes as well in Canada.

Did Tuello say 'take her back to the detention centre' at the end? She's not free in Canada, she's awaiting trial.

Ann Dowd is superb as always. She manages to convert empathy with total commitment to the Gilead cause and her character development is incredible.

Ooft the sexual tension between Serena and Tuello. In terms of staying in Gilead - he’s there alone with her and is hardly gonna physically force her back to Canada heavily pregnant!

Im so confused about Mayday - I don’t remember June thinking it didn’t exist. Of course it exists we’ve seen it every season. Why are they making maps out of fabric?

Now I don’t mind artistic liberties being taken in TV and film, however I can o my conclude that June can teleport. Her ability to persistently be at any random place at her convenience, and ALWAYS slipping past security amazes me. You’d think Canada was about 2 square miles judging by this show.

It has got so SO ridiculous but I can’t stop watching

Just watched it. I thought the Council were going to make Serena a Handmaid.

Mrs Putnam would probably much prefer sobbing over Janine’s grave, wouldn’t she? I’m looking forward to seeing how things develop between Janine & Lydia. Whether or not Esther survives.

Yes, Canada is absolutely massive. However maybe it’s taken a long time to get Serena there and it isn’t obvious how long from the tv show.

I could not believe that Serena essentially proposed to Commander Lawrence. That was her chance for power.

On the confusion over Mayday…I think that stems from the season they were hiding out (in Chicago maybe?) with the resistance. June and Janine held such hope that Mayday was going to be the answer to get them out and were disappointed they didn’t find “it” when they searched for it (they just found a different bunch of creepy men who wanted to sleep with Janine). I think that made them believe Mayday was just a fantasy made up by people stuck in Gilead to give themselves hope.

Did anyone else find June’s voice super creepy when she faced down Serena? It was like a character from a bad horror film!

Also that new Commander…McKenzie? Hannah’s new ‘dad’? Ewww he is a danger! And his warning shot to Nick? I feel like Nick is going to sail too close to the wind this season. The flashback filled me a bit with dread that his time might soon be up. I might stop watching if that happens #TeamNick

Serena’s real reason for wanting to stay in Gilead. If they’d given her the choice of remaining as a Handmaid or going back to Canada I suppose she’d have chosen Canada but I wonder if it would have been a hard decision?

Also wondering if she’s going to start claiming that as a good Gileadan woman she can’t read.

Presumably McKenzie’s fine with Hannah being used to draw June out - I always wondered how they were talked into letting Hannah be locked in that box to force June to betray the other women. His wife looked a bit less comfortable with it all though. I wonder if, like Mrs Putnam, she can’t help feeling at least some reluctant obligation to the mother of the child she’s raising?

Hannah's fake dad gave us a reason why June seemed to be given lots of second chances, at least!!

Oh and Mrs Putnam…the second time this season we’ve seen her display empathy towards Janine…whom she utterly detested previously. Fascinating shift….is she coming to some kind of realisation?

I wonder if Mrs Putnam needed some distance from Janine to feel empathy towards her. Having her in the house did her head in and it didn’t help that her husband is a creepy bastard who tries to get off with all the handmaids.

I love the way Angela has inherited Janine’s gorgeous hair, such fabulous auburn curls peeping out from her bonnet. I am in two minds about Janine’s future prospects, either she is going to swallow the kool aid and become Aunt Lydia’s little helper with the other handmaids - which will mean she is story lined doomed to have a sad end - or she is going to somehow escape with Angela and live a happy life in a cosy home in Canada.

Has Serena had a gender scan , she keeps on referring to the baby as he ,my son, Waterfords son. Be a shame if the baby turns out to be a girl, no political clout in a daughter.

I thought this too! She’s making such a big deal about her “son”….I’d love if it was a girl.

I think Serena was told it was a boy after a scan?

Surely there were much simpler ways to find out the significance of Hannah's dress colour. Like ask one of the women who have recently returned from Gilead?

I can't figure out Commander Lawrence.
Could someone explain his character please.
Am feeling a bit stupid that I can't figure out which side he is on. His feelings towards June and Nick.
I know he is not a fan of Serena.
His wife was nice wasn't she ?

I dont think we're supposed to be able to figure him out.

He apparently helped create Gilead but has never abided by the rules. And has obviously helped June and other handmaid'

I think he's part of mayday or the other resistance groups, like nick

But then other times he doesn't seem to care either way
