Oh the relief!! I was so worried he wouldnt pull it off! Yeah the classical piece had a few wobbly moments but Stand By Me was wonderful.

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/02/2008 22:12

yes, the Stand bty Me espcially the middle bit was great, and that cute Tojan's little solo... lovely Pie Jesu by the chorister boys at the end...oh I love this programme

theUrbanDryad · 22/02/2008 22:13

i really wasn't sure about having 50 odd kids bellowing out "Suicidal" though. possibly my little quirk though

Gareth is

merlotmama · 22/02/2008 22:28

I'm sure he'a Scorpio...it's the bone structure...and the eyebrows...and the intensity. Just like my first boyfriend, too. And he certainly wasn't gay.

Quite nostalgic.

Also not a dry eye in this house. Ds2, aged 15, going round the house singing 'Stand by Me' (quite unconsciously, I'm sure) as I type.

smartiejake · 22/02/2008 23:02

Words fail me. Not a dry eye in the house when they sang stand by me

Watched this with my 11 yr old DD who has become miraculously more interested in choir singing since watching this programme

I cried

Tnog · 22/02/2008 23:21

It was very inspiring

i loved Imran as he sooo reminds me of the hard nut kiddies at my school. He had the most lovely voice... as did Tojan... wouldn't be surprised to see them popping up in pop idol or something as scary!

cruisemum1 · 23/02/2008 07:29

loved love love it! still wish tojan had had teh solo though. he has a beautiful voice. 10 yo dd ws wondering why i was crying at the end and thinks i am weird . so pleased for Gareth

Countingthegreyhairs · 23/02/2008 16:48

Felt the same way UrbanD about them singing "suicidal" but oh, loved it, loved it, loved it. Imran's voice is so lovely and pure. Was wringing out my hankie too ...

Wonder what Gareth's going to do next??

Bridie3 · 23/02/2008 16:54

My husband was weeping, too! Really inspiring. That poor little Cameron, though...

There seemed to be a lot of really nice boys there. Is it unusual to have a single-sex state secondary school? It seemed to work well.
