Messed up things in ‘Friends’

Inspired by a recent thread.

Did anyone else notice that the song Ross dances to with that girl when they kiss (when on a break), is the same song he gets the radio station to play trying to win Rachel back!!

I think that is messed up - if only Rachel knew…

Anyone have anymore?

i often watch FRIENDS on repeat to fall asleep too and I have been shocked by so many things

Joey is only able to get the job on Day of Our Lives if he sleeps with the director?! And it’s made out to be hilarious - but if it was the other way round…Harvey Weinstein vibes.
The way ‘fat’ Monica is portrayed as a really stupid greedy pig annoys me. There are so many comments referring to her being fat throughout the series and it’s awfully done.
There are no other ethnicities apart from White Caucasian as a main character. The diversity is shocking, even for 30 years ago.
Phoebe has suffered an absolute horrendous traumatic childhood, and it’s only ever referred to in a jokey derogatory way.
When Rachel announces she’s moving to Paris, not once does Ross ever comment or act upset that Emma will be leaving. He’s her Dad but hardly ever acknowledges her existence. Poor character writing even in a SitCom.

Never mind Emma. Ben is hardly mentioned or seen in later seasons.

The way the birth mother of Chandler and Monica's twins is treated. She's depicted as a dim-witted, promiscuous redneck and her circumstances aren't remotely interesting to the writers. She's just a prop in the more important story of "affluent childless city couple wanting a baby."

Phoebe's pregnancy with triplets as a surrogate for her younger brother and his much older wife/partner. It was written in to cover Lisa Kudrow's real pregnancy, apparently.

But her brother's child(ren) blurgh! Also poor Phoebe having triplets that she couldn't keep as her first pregnancy! And then after the birth she diffidently asks if she can keep one baby, they just say no and that's it. Sad really.
