Anyone watching this? Such fun, over the top horror yet incredibly atmospheric too and great acting by everyone. I’m halfway through the first season.

Have watched it maybe 3 times! It's excellent and we're still waiting for a 3rd series. Not sure if it will materialise, though. Love James Delaney and the East India Company head guy. The pervy chemist too...great stuff!

diddl · 22/09/2022 18:53

A third series?

I thought that there was only one so far?

Dannexe · 22/09/2022 18:54

Are there two series?

OceanbreezeSun · 22/09/2022 18:56

It’s a brilliant series, really dark and unusual.

Tom Hardy is great in it & I’ve watched it a couple of times over the years. The only character I thought spoilt it a little and threw me off was the Prince Regent guy - not because of his acting but his costume/make up is pretty bad. I think he’s wearing a fat suit and has facial prosthetics, but they don’t look very convincing. I just remember thinking how out of place he looked compared to all the other characters.

Still waiting for the next series, if it ever does materialise!

Oooo my Dad recommended this to me, I’m finishing a re watch of GoT then going to start it.

Gonksmum · 22/09/2022 19:18

My mistake! Sorry, yes, waiting for the second series.

diddl · 22/09/2022 19:29

I watched it weekly when it first came out.

Perhaps worth a binge rewatch?

This is on my list to watch... is the horror aspect gruesome?

KimberleyClark · 22/09/2022 20:27

Not particularly I’d say.

Is there a horror aspect? I’ve seen it and wouldn’t describe it as horror at all. It’s a period drama (albeit a gritty one)

CrossPurposes · 24/09/2022 10:18

It's also on iPlayer for those without Netflix.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 24/09/2022 20:11

Oooh I watched it first time round and loved it. Might give it another go.

Tonkerbea · 24/09/2022 20:22

Loved this when it was first on the Been, wish they'd done a second series.

emerald1981 · 24/09/2022 20:32

Loved it when it first came out and rewatching it again.

Rumour is series 2 should start filming soon for a 2023 release date. Really hope it's true!

emerald1981 · 24/09/2022 20:33

Sorry meant filming end of 2023 for a 2024 release date!

ILoveDB · 25/09/2022 20:47

Worth it to see TH sitting naked.

Aurelia53 · 02/04/2023 19:12

Absolutely brilliant, I believe the 2nd series has already been commissioned. However, a lot of the best characters are literally, not on board, for one reason or another ie Oona Chaplin, Stephen Graham, David Hayman, and it's not even sure Jessie Buckley will survive. And what about the young boy out at the farm, possibly James's son,
