Is anyone watching this on Netflix?

I started but couldn’t get into it. Does it get better?

Boxin · 19/09/2022 12:33

Yes a couple of episodes in. I’m interested enough to see what happens but it’s not bingeable so far.
I just hope it doesn’t get too scary!

alittleadvicepls · 19/09/2022 12:35

Yep finished it. Not too impressed with the ending.

FawnFrenchieMum · 19/09/2022 12:35

I’ve watched it to the end. Only 8 episodes, worth watching to the end but not up there with the best.

Worth watching it would you say?

Weird but not too scary.

@FawnFrenchieMum excellent thanks, I’ll continue then.

I’m assuming it was left open for a second series.

MelodyPondsMum · 19/09/2022 12:37

Tbh it's a bit of a damp squib. I expected either darkness like Hill House or psychological thriller like You. Instead it's a waste of a good cast.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 19/09/2022 12:39

We watched 3 episodes hoping it would improve but just couldn't stick anymore! We thought it was badly acted and very predictable. Not at all scary! It's got that 'made for daytime US TV' feel about it. Sorry, don't want to offend anyone that enjoyed it but we definitely wouldn't recommend it.

AuntieMarys · 19/09/2022 12:40

I binged it in an afternoon. Absolutely ridiculous hokum but I've seen worse

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 19/09/2022 12:40

Gave up halfway through episode 2.

VinoDino · 19/09/2022 12:41

I got to episode 5 I think and gave up.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 19/09/2022 12:41

Not as bad as the ludicrous one about the two twin sisters.

This, just don’t expect too much and you’re fine.

meow1989 · 19/09/2022 12:47

I watched it, it was meh - not sure what it was trying to be ultimately but good to have on in background whilst doing bits

GhostCastle · 19/09/2022 12:50

I thought it was going to be really good. It could have been so much better based on the storyline.

EmmiJay · 19/09/2022 12:55

It was cack. Save yourself the turmoil and skip to the end. Just to see what happens. I hope there isn't a season 2😖

NoShitHemlock · 19/09/2022 13:44

I agree with PP - save yourself those 8hrs and do something more enjoyable. Emily Deschanel was awful - she literally couldn't act her way out of a paper bag.

Anyway I made it to the end and 2 days later decided to try something else so I put on Unbelievable with Toni Collette and Merritt Wever. Not sure if there has been a previous thread but it was great - excellent acting and based on a true story.

jay55 · 19/09/2022 14:40

It leads up so many garden paths and leads to the dung pile.

WhoWants2Know · 19/09/2022 14:50

I think I'm half way through, and it seems to need an awful lot of suspension of disbelief. And it's spending an awfully long time for anything to happen.

Incrediblebuttrue · 19/09/2022 14:56

Yes, it's a bit rubbish. It seems like it's been written to a formula and they're dragging it out to add more episodes.

mizu · 19/09/2022 14:57

Shite Grin can't believe I watched it all. Think I forwarded some of it just to see what happened at the end!

WhoWants2Know · 19/09/2022 15:02

I think it would have been more fun to watch it with the kids and take the mick at the clunky plot devices.

"Did you just remind this kid about her epi pen for the 3rd time? I wonder if that might become important...🤔"

the80sweregreat · 19/09/2022 20:26

Made a start on it today. I'm not that impressed so far.
It reminded me of a Netflix film called ' case 39' with Renee Zellewger who is a social worker who adopts a girl with a troubled background.
I think it's following a similar formula to this , but not sure. Mae is definitely a devil child.
