I watched Sunday's episode this morning and I thought "Amelia's" acting was awful.

Hard for someone who has never been in labour to act being in labour!

Very true! It wasn't really that bit that I thought was bad. It was the overacted facial expressions. A few of them made me laugh and cheered me up before work.

Yes, Amelia's worked herself up to Marlon levels of gurning since she began to get major storylines. Needs to rein it in a bit.

I read somewhere that actors state that while you do need to amplify your expressions in theatre; it's the opposite for screen acting. A great screen actor can convey an emotion with the merest eyebrow twitch or a hint of a wry smile.

As to the storm episode, I quite liked that it was marginally more believable than eg a plane crashing into the village or the outdoor pursuit one where there were about half a dozen people in life threatening danger in various spots all at once.

Quite liked the brass band at the start and Kim's ride over the hills and dales. Very Yorkshire. 😊

I've just watched it and was a bit underwhelmed at the possible casualty count but didn't realise the storm was going to rage on for a few days. Hopefully that will give it time to get rid of the characters on our wish list.

I think it was a nod to Marian Wilks riding in the opening scene of the first episode. They did a similar thing with Jack’s funeral a few years ago.
