I couldn't see an existing thread on this, apologies if there is and I missed it.

Anyway, as it says in the thread title. New series starts tonight.

Yay!

The swedish woman is gorgeous.

I remember her talking about not having an accent but don;t remember which she is already

MrsMitford3 · 13/09/2022 20:35

Or we could all get sent programmes like at the theatre with pics and bios to keep track 😂

Piggywaspushed · 13/09/2022 20:35

I had my first Red Velvet in July. No likey.

I cannot think of anything more boring than looking at other people bake a cake

Then don't.
However, you may enjoy Bake Off which is a baking competition, and one of the nicest thing on TV.

Blueberrycreampie · 13/09/2022 20:36

Are Red Velvet Cakes not quite new inventions?

jay55 · 13/09/2022 20:37

New to the UK I think maybe only 10 years or so. Didn't hummingbird or one of the fancy cupcake places bring them to popularity here.

That woman said she hadn't baked on for 30 years!

PrincessScarlett · 13/09/2022 20:39

Red velvet have been around for decades. I remember eating one 20 years ago.

I hate red velvet cake

I've only had a couple and found them disappointing- mainly because they look vaguely chocolatey but aren't.

Halsall · 13/09/2022 20:42

Why does Rebs keep complaining that her cakes had sunk? They were flat, and that’s what they needed to be - if they were domed she’d only have had to cut the tops off to level them anyway.

PrincessScarlett · 13/09/2022 20:44

Trouble with red velvet is that they always look more spectacular than they taste.

bibliomania · 13/09/2022 20:44

I think of them as being American and newer over here, but might be wrong.

Piggywaspushed · 13/09/2022 20:45

Imagine trying this many cream cheese smothered cakes....

littlbrowndog · 13/09/2022 20:45

Soggy

Sandro again with very good cake. Maybe he is peaking too soon 🤷🏻‍♀️

jay55 · 13/09/2022 20:50

The top 2 were far far too good. For week one anyway.

PrincessScarlett · 13/09/2022 20:50

Thanks @Piggywaspushed red velvet is ancient!!

impossibletoday · 13/09/2022 20:51

Praline pebbledash is quite clever

PrincessScarlett · 13/09/2022 20:58

Scottish bloke has already said at least once he doesn't chop finely as he likes texture in his cake

Piggywaspushed · 13/09/2022 20:58

Carole's hair is remarkably coordinated with her top.
