Has anyone else watched this?
It’s a documentary in three parts about a man who cons women into thinking he is a spy and makes them travel around thinking they hiding from ‘the enemy’.

Completely shocking!

Yes,I saw it a while ago when it came out. It’s very disturbing and so upsetting, particularly for the kids.

Those poor kids. And the poor poor woman who he had on the run with him for 10 years. It was lovely to see that she has got married.

I can’t believe that he got out of prison. And how is he travelling out of the country?

Weird creepy dangerous guy. He has just been arrested in France triggered by not having a licence for dog breeding. Apparently his wife/partner was very rarely leaving the house.

There was also a young man conned for years as well. He managed to extract MILLIONS from their families. They must have been targeted for their wealth. Wonder where the money went? And wonder what MH diagnosis was for him - some sort of paranoia/delusions etc?

I can’t believe that this wasn’t huge news.

Loved the Dad - never gave up. Proper old school with his wall map and strings.

Truly bizarre and shocking - but similar MO to Tinder Swindler and Bad Vegan - all about panic / urgency issue that needs money immediately to sort on repeat repeat repeat.

The dad of the girl was a bit odd I thought. I hope that one day the woman he has now gets to realise how much her ex husband has done for her.

Yes I just watched it and felt so sorry for all the victims. I really hope Sandra Clifton is able to get away from him and able to make sense of reality. God knows how he's brainwashed her. I suppose there is a small chance she's still with him of her own true will but I think that's a very slim possibility.

One thing that struck me though was, as much as I felt for the victims - how on earth did he manage to convince them that he was an actual MI5 agent? Surely if a bloke in a pub TELLS YOU he's an MI5 agent, that's probably the best indication he's definitely not an MI5 agent??

But I think that’s it. It’s like dodgy looking scam emails. If you don’t realise it’s all shite straight away then you are likely to fall for his lines.
