Where do we go from CBeebies?

DSs are five and nearly four and I'm starting to think we ought to be moving on from CBeebies. CBBC still looks too 'grown-up' for them. We get Sky so we have access to loads of other kiddy channels but I have no idea which to go for. We watch Roary the Racing Car on Nick Jr but that's all so far. I'd rather they didn't watch too many American programmes. Where did you go from CBeebies?

Playhouse Disney!!

Nick Jr and Playhouse Disney.. otherwise it's cartoons and they can be awful.

We found Nick Jr was super, not so much educational stuff as Cbeebies by any means, and I filtered out some times as being V. american, but blues clues (UK version) and Kipper were lovely. I hope they are still on.

Unfortunately my favourite channel for ds, Discovery Kids, got killed off by the new advertising regulations (every silver lining has a cloud).

Nick Jr and Playhouse Disney!

PLayhouse actually not as bad as it sounds - there are some American prgrammmes there but quite a few are dubbed into British English and some are excellent - Little Einsteins is a big fave round here and Higgley Town Heroes. Also there are no adverts on Disney - Nick Jr does have adverts.

I always wondered if Discovery Kids would come back. Mine used to love it when they were little. I still have video tapes full of Theodore Tugboat that we cant bear to part with.

Must admit I've always been put off anything with 'Disney' in the title as I can't stand Disney films. I'll have a look at the listings for Playhouse Disney, though. The lack of adverts is definitely a big appeal! Nick Jr sounds worth a look too.

i am a terrible snob re disney, i especially loathe that awful winnie the pooh cartoon thing. but playhouse disney really is good, esp higgelytown heroes and little einstein as tommy has said. and bunnytown is fantastic, very funny and the songs are good. try to avoid that pooh programme.

nick jr has dastardly adverts. but also peppa pig and wonderpets.
