new thriller /spooky drama

Red Rose is set in Bolton during the long, hot summer after GCSEs and follows a group of childhood friends.

Wren (Amelia Clarkson) and Rochelle (Isis Hainsworth) are on the cusp of a summer of fun with their tight-knit gang – including Wren’s crush Noah (Harry Redding) – after finishing their GCSEs.

But when Rochelle downloads a mysterious phone app called Red Rose, it kickstarts a terrifying campaign of dangerous demands, which exposes the friends to a seemingly supernatural force. Who or what is Red Rose?

"Wren and her friends are excited for no school and no rules. It’s set to be a summer with everything ahead of them," says Amelia Clarkson, 24, who’s starred in Poldark and The Last Kingdom.

"But Wren’s romantic interest in Noah causes Rochelle to feel jealous, and the collapse of their friendship is awful timing considering what Rochelle goes through with Red Rose,’ she adds.

‘Rochelle becomes isolated, and the phone itself becomes this kind of phantom amongst the group, which is truly terrifying."

I think Jaya is alive as I think she could get out through the window. Ashley I'm not sure about - I'm not sure how high up she fell from. Surely they won't kill off any more teens though? That's quite dark!

I think the gardener is the bald guy seen from behind at the end of episode 5. I don't know who he is though as there are no bald guys are there?

maybe one of the men who was around when they had that flashback to the ouija board?

It's more early 90s. That's what the kids are wearing these days.
The music follows that too- a lot of 90s rave at parties, and some early James thrown in the mix.

I actually went to uni with one of the Clarkson twins, they're the same age as me and would have grown up listening to that sort of music. Given it's all a bit of a nod to their love for growing up in Bolton I'm wondering if that's why there's a bit of a 90s nostalgia vibe thrown in there? (The a capella version of Barbie Girl freaked me the hell out mind!!)
