Anyone watching the homage to Kate Bush on BBC2? Incredibly talented, beautiful and quirky. I wonder if she is so interesting IRL. I imagine her with a proper pen with purple ink... and possibly a monocle!

grafittiartist · 30/07/2022 20:57

Wonderful program!

Rodders92 · 30/07/2022 21:03

Loving it too so many brilliant songs and memories

StiggyZardust · 30/07/2022 21:06

I'm being made to watch her by DH. I can't stand her.

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 30/07/2022 21:07

Yes she is amazing and a great dancer, have it taping for my 22 year old son as there is a new love for Kate since music in Stranger Things. Had her cassettes in the late 80's/90's. Such a talented woman and mesmerizing to watch.

Pebbles16 · 30/07/2022 21:26

@StiggyZardust - hopefully you will have enjoyed the Bowie!
I was never a huge fan at the time. My 'very first' boyfriend was totally in love with her (he was possibly before his time what with being 14 and all!)
I have grown to admire her hugely

This program that’s on now is totally bonkers. I think the dancing violins are my favourite.

Jellykat · 30/07/2022 22:35

I've been watching all of them, totally my era, i remember studying the various record covers wishing i could ;look like her.
Was especially delighted with Guy Garveys tribute, can so hear her influence in Elbows music!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 30/07/2022 22:37

Also time to resurrect the 70s Peter Gabriel crush.

Jellykat · 30/07/2022 22:41

Absolutely!

Pebbles16 · 30/07/2022 22:44

@Jellykat I have a total crush on Guy Garvey based entirely on his love. of music

She is amazing, I had forgotten how much work she had produced

AnyFucker · 30/07/2022 22:47

Great programme. I admire Kate Bush so much. How she has conducted herself through the years is quite remarkable.

goldfinchonthelawn · 30/07/2022 22:49

I loved it. She is so talented as a singer, writer and dancer, so beautiful and so charming. I have a massive girl-crush on her.

Jellykat · 30/07/2022 22:51

Pebbles16 i adore him, but never really known why.. of course i love his music, but theres something else

LBFseBrom · 12/12/2022 04:31

I wonder if it is the same programme I saw about Kate Bush a few years back. I will check, loved it then and would like to see it again! I wish there was a dvd of her show at Hammersmith in recent times but there isn't.

What struck me about the programme is how sweet she was, a real delight with great, versatile talent. She grew up not far from where I live. I never bumped into her but I do know someone, a close relative, who did some work with her and her husband when they still lived in SE London; he found her charming and a little eccentric, in a nice way.

beguilingeyes · 12/12/2022 05:41

They filmed the 2014 (that long ago already..eek) shows but she seems reluctant to release it on dvd.
