The robbery storyline is a waste of time. Although it realistic that Ryan is feeling restless - he is indeed a bit of a spare part these days. In reality he would probably have jumped on a cheap flight and gone in search of bar work months ago.

Anyone else wondering where the Ken and Wendeh flamin’ Craawzier storyline is going? They’re making a big thing about Ken not betraying Deirdre’s memory - surely he’s not going to say ‘Hmmm, actually I will shag Wendy after all and sod Deirdre and her marrow’?

Aaron seems to have inherited the inane grin left behind by Emma’s boyfriend (John?)

Is Peter still out for revenge re: his liver? I wouldn’t go as far as to say I give a toss about the outcome, but I’m mildly curious as to whether we’ll get one.

Yes it's such a stupid storyline and as if it will work

Why was he calling police on his own phone when there was a restaurant phone for instance

woodhill · 02/08/2022 15:26

Then the hoax call he made earlier to Leanne

strugglingwithlife · 02/08/2022 18:48

Can someone explain what's going on with the Ryan and Debbie robbery storyline, was busy last night and couldn't really pay attention to it, cba to watch on catch-up

patchysmum · 02/08/2022 19:05

Debbie tuned of the electric so Ryan could empty the safe and Debbie could claim on the insurance .Debbie took the customers to the rover and gave them free drinks. Ryan emptied the safe but Leanne came in and turned on the lights .Ryan got away but will probably show up on ctv and be caught

ToffeeNotCoffee · 02/08/2022 19:06

Debbie bribed Ryan into robbing money from the safe at the bistro. Debbie then backed out and told Ryan in no uncertain terms the deal was off.

He whinged and whined and wheedled and talked her into letting him do it. He needs the five grand cash to start a dj business in Ibiza. Either Debbie or Ryan switched off a fuse in the fuse box to plunge the bistro into darkness so Ryan could rob the safe (no gloves on his hands).

Debbie took the bistro guests to the Rovers and said the drinks are on me.

Just as Ryan was sneaking out of the bistro (he should have been wearing a stripey jersey and a burglars' mask) Leanne came in, sorted the lights and Ryan sneaked under the bar then popped up pretending he had just got there.

riserved · 02/08/2022 19:16

Your explanation was very helpful Toffee, even though I watched it.

eddiemairswife · 02/08/2022 20:05

Corrie is hopeless at criminality; Gary is still at large after killing Rick, exhuming the body and burying it somewhere else.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 02/08/2022 21:41

The best thing about that episode was actually seeing the Rovers full of people, I don’t think we have seen that for years now, it felt like the good old days for a few minutes.

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 02/08/2022 21:54

I agree. They just need a better set-up in terms of staff to bring it to the forefront again. Gemma just isn’t a classic Rovers barmaid, and I honestly forget sometimes that Ryan works there. Does Sean still work there too?

The only one with real potential is Daisy. Sometimes when she’s with Jenny, there’s a hint of the relationship Bet had with younger barmaids such as Racquel and Tina.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 02/08/2022 22:06

Yes Gemma doesn’t fit at all, Sean still works there, the bar staff never work together, there is no banter over tea round the table before opening up like there used to be, the set up now feels disjointed and fake, there are literally no connections between the bar staff, couple that with virtually no customers they may as well roll tumbleweed around the bar, they really need to sort the Rovers out and bring it front and centre again, the Bistro is taking the Rovers place and even the cafe has more atmosphere.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 02/08/2022 22:10

The cabin also seems surplus to requirements these days, the new set has made it far smaller than it used to be and the sub post office has completely disappeared.

OnTheBoardwalk · 02/08/2022 22:28

Yeah what happened to the post office we see on classic Corrie?

was there a street rebellion when the closure was announced?

riserved · 02/08/2022 22:31

Summer is still looking shifty when her medication is mentioned.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 02/08/2022 22:34

No one seemed to notice or care they could no longer buy stamps in Weatherfield.

OnTheBoardwalk · 02/08/2022 22:42

Just watching tonight’s episode. Why on earth would anyone listen to or engage Ryan

Idontthink · 02/08/2022 22:46

Is Maria still going on about cars, pollution, recycling/ it’s just so dull

I looked this up on Corriepedia once - apparently it was never reinstated when the Kabin was rebuilt after the tram crash. So in nearly 12 years, no one has missed it.

I think they forgot that for a bit when Kelly got kidnapped. Hopefully they’ll forget for good.

Why wouldn't he use his own phone? If someone told me to call the police I'd automatically reach for my mobile.

woodhill · 03/08/2022 10:04

I wondered if it would draw attention to him and his phone usage as he made the hoax call earlier

strugglingwithlife · 03/08/2022 16:23

Thanks for the explanation everyone

WombaMaPonga · 03/08/2022 17:17

What was the hoax call. My recording keeps cutting out early grr

Bagpuss2022 · 01/08/2022 22:14

Theif plot is stupid so the lights came on so surly the cctv would too and see Ryan crouching and then walking to the bar

That’s exactly what I thought. It’s so dumb

mycatisannoying · 03/08/2022 23:31

I wish Jenny would buy some modern clothes; her style is a bit 'mother of the bride'.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 04/08/2022 06:29

I found the scene strange between Debbie and Ryan in the ginnel, discussing the robbery. It was like they’d filmed each actor separately and not together if that makes sense !

all a bit far fetched with the cctv , obviously they’d have switched it off !
