Does anyone know how to watch old Hollywood films on tv?

I’ve got Sky inc cinema, Amazon Prime, Netflix & Disney but I really fancy watching some old Hollywood movies. I’ve tried searching and I can’t see any classic films on any of these services, but surely there must be a way somehow. Can anyone help?

Talking Pictures TV Channel is great for all sorts of Vintage film/TV.

BBC iPlayer usually has a pretty good selection on at any one time.

hopeishere · 24/07/2022 12:46

BBC 2 has some classic ones on Saturdays so they might be on iPlayer.

FilmFour - check the daytime films. The BBC seems to have struck some sort of deal with RKO and has a lot of absolute golden age classics on iplayer.

If you live in London, there's a channel called London Live which broadcasts films in the afternoons. Many are abysmal, but there's the odd gem.

BBC 2 today Up periscope, then Reach for the sky

You can get some classic films on Disney+. I watched An Affair to Remember on it a few weeks ago.

The UK version is annoyingly nothing like its US counterpart which I would happily pay for. However, if you like westerns and Steven Seagal you're sorted.

Great Movies Classic isn't too bad but if you want proper old Hollywood then YouTube is very useful and/or a time machine to the eighties when Channel 4’s film programming was by Leslie Halliwell.

BBC I player has a lot of 30s and 40s movies

@CrossPurposes I completely agree . The UK TCM is dire beyond words. Unless you're a huge Westerns fan. No idea why the discrepancy between here and the US Confused
