...what are they going to do? They were talking about going to Jorvik, but that's not going to be £500. Strange reason to sell all your treasures.

Did they mean NEW York?!

tortoiseSHELL · 18/01/2008 12:40

Definitely not! Felt really sorry for elderly lady trying to decide whether to sell hre beloved treasures so she could treat her grand-daughter.

A day out can't be that much???

don't you get it? tis just an excuse to sell your treasures on the telly! none of these people really need to sell anything to get on the telly!!

tortoiseSHELL · 18/01/2008 12:47

but how weird!

depends how they are getting there surely and if they want to stay overnight. train fare is extortiante form most places, plus lunch at betties (or any other restaurant) could set you back over £100 if a lot of you. jorvik centre, museums, yorkshire wheel, etc it all adds up and of course you'd need to doa bit of shopping.

everytime we got ot york to visit the inlaws h takes the kids to one of the free museums or ona boat rip and i go shopping. seen all the museums as lived there for a few years.

York races ?

tortoiseSHELL · 18/01/2008 12:56

There are 2 adults and 1 toddler. It is a day trip, and you can always get cheap train fares if you plan in advance!

Perhaps not the races with a toddler then...

just wistful thinking on my part ....
