Is anyone watching the programme on BBC3?

I forgot it was on. Is it worth a watch? I can’t get my head around the bloke sending a dick pick and that’s what got them caught.

Mennex · 23/07/2022 12:30

Just watching this. I love how they were doing the Daily Mail sad faces, just like normal people, and the scale model of their mansion referred to as a Wendy House 😀

still a shame for them of course but I struggle to see how she could tell which piece of swntimental jewelly was missing out of the rows and rows of watches and bracelets they had.

She has answered that before. All of her jewellery is listed on her insurance policy. I am sure she had photos of it all too. I can understand that as my engagement ring and a watch I inherited both have to be insured separately on my house policy and I have to have photos and independent insurance valuations on both.

Mennex · 23/07/2022 12:34

But she still had an insane amount of jewellry and near identical bracelets. Nobody needs that much.

Supersee · 23/07/2022 13:12

I thought that the watches and jewellery weren't on the insurance? What's the point in taking the bracelet with her daughter's name on. You wouldn't be able to sell that on.

Anyway, yes, the amount was obscene and in a previous doc they've both across quite well, albeit I don't think she's the brightest. No one deserves to be robbed but I can see why people might struggle to muster up sympathy.

And all that money and supposed security but they were able to run rampage through the house for ages before security finally saw them? That bit was odd.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 23/07/2022 13:15

I saw a doc about TE once. They had a huge soft play area built into their mega basement. The sight of her little daughter playing alone in it was a bit depressing.

Mennex · 23/07/2022 13:34

I do feel a bit sorry for her tbh, she comes across as quite sentinental and vulnerable, poor little rich girl I guess. Being burgled is horrible for anyone. Their security was surprisingly crap.

Mennex · 23/07/2022 13:35

i guess they take the diamonds out and melt down the gold.

Floralnomad · 23/07/2022 13:44

We watched this , obviously you have sympathy with anyone being burgled if only because it makes you feel unsafe in your own home but my over riding thought was that all the Jewellery looked really tacky , nothing nice or elegant about it . The blonde foreign woman ( can’t recall her name ) is a revolting human being and should be ashamed of herself .

That dick pic cost him 11 years in prison 😬
The person who he sent it to probably didn’t even ask for it.
typical man

She’s put this on her Instagram 😮

Yeah I couldn't stop laughing at the bloke for sending a dick pic either! What a muppet. Typical man - all he had to do was NOT send anyone a dick pic but he had to do it!

DenholmElliot1 · 24/07/2022 17:49

@Floralnomad I agree about the blonde woman. Wasn't she Tamaras housekeeper at the time?

LidlCinnamonBun · 24/07/2022 20:40

She was. Her son was one the robbers.
I would guess she’s the one that left the safe room unlocked.

OP posts:
DenholmElliot1 · 24/07/2022 20:46

oh yes I forgot about the safe room being left unlocked. Yes, it was sure to be her.

A horrible betrayal for Tamara then. Her own house-keeper :(

If I were mega wealthy I think i'd keep my jewels in a safe deposit box. Not that Tamara did anything wrong of course - if she wants them in her house it's up to her - but I would worry about it being enticing to potential robbers.

vroom321 · 26/07/2022 09:40

Did they not have security people in the home? No alarm that went directly to a accompany? No cameras that alert your phone?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/07/2022 09:42

I’m fascinated as to why their insurance didn’t pay out anything, how they robbers got into the garden and how the accomplices were found not guilty. V strange

They did - this is how the Family Manager found out about the intrusion and also a security guard did go in and was pushed over by the robbers.

There is a strong suspicion that it was an inside job, ie, the housekeeper, who was spotted on facebook wearing Tamaras stolen earings.

The jewels were not insured. They haven't said how they got in the garden, presumably to deter others from doing the same lol.

It does explain in the program how the support team were found not guilty.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/07/2022 10:20

But why wasn’t a couple 10s of million pounds worth of jewellery not insured- the Ecclestons can’t afford the premiums?!

DenholmElliot1 · 26/07/2022 10:27

The insurance companies would have done a risk assessment and I guess no insurance company would cover them because they kept the jewellery at home.

LidlCinnamonBun · 26/07/2022 14:28

I wonder if they didn’t pay out because it wasn’t locked? When someone stole everything out my car the insurance company didn’t pay out because one of the doors wasn’t locked (very old car, it was broken) - the thieves had smashed the front window anyway 🙄

OP posts:
DenholmElliot1 · 26/07/2022 15:43

@LidlCinnamonBun the jewellery wasn't insured so there was never going to be a pay out anyway.

LidlCinnamonBun · 26/07/2022 17:27

Oh I see - they didn’t insure them, not the insurance company didn’t pay out.
Very odd.
