Britain's Tourettes Mystery C4

Has anybody watched this? Not sure what I think, to be honest.

I watched it and my 12 yr old son has Tourettes, so I was very interested. Firstly, I greatly admired all the participants, I think it would take a lot of courage to go on tv and have everyone judge you. I get very frustrated when every programme about Tourettes shows people who swear etc. my son does not have any tics which are actual words and I wish there was a wider representation. The programme mentioned tics/Tourettes possibly being contagious and really that is a load of rubbish. What did you think?

My daughter has Tourette’s and took part in the filming for this documentary and is absolutely gutted by the waste of an amazing opportunity to make a really good, informative programme about Tourette’s. She’s in contact with some of the other contributors and none of them are particularly happy about it.

She filmed for an hour or so and they cut pretty much everything that didn’t fit with their narrative and she feels that her story was misrepresented.

IMO, Tourette’s should have never been included in the title as it seemed to be about the rise in functional tics, not necessarily Tourette’s

And, FFS, Tourette’s is not contagious!!

I watched the show but have then been on TikTok and watched videos from a Mum and her daughter who took part. As usual the TV shows just mess up and confuse everyone.

It's not the same but it pisses me off so much when type 1 diabetes is done on tv shows as they get it wrong all the time and leads to more confusion.

I'll stick to TikTok to learn about it as that is real and factual from those who live with it, warts and all.
