Have to admit I haven't a clue what is going on! No idea who is real and who is a host or if the timelines are constantly shifting. Why are the main characters buzzing around killing seemingly random people? Can anyone watching give me any help??

Don't know about help but I suspect the entirety of Season 3 might be broadly irrelevant and arguably better unwatched.

I miss it actually being set in Westworld. My brain could cope with that!

I don't know what episode you are up to - I'm up to 3.

It's 8 years since series 3.

Maeve and Caleb - have moved on Maeve to cabin in woods and Caleb married with daughter. Robot man in black sends men after them they met up and get tricked into new version of park in USA (pervious one China seas) by Dolores in Charlotte Hales body.

Dolores/Hale had recreated man in black as host - he's killing people in power and replacing with host so he can rebuild a new park on US soil. There's some weird fly contagion that programs ordinary people to do what these two want.

Real man in black William alive in cryogenic stasis under Dolores/Hale control.

New actual Dolores keeps waking up with brown hair flat sharing with a friend - writing stories and may be in some kind of game - but someone is stalking her and it looks like her world is controlled by some tower and sound. Teddy is also lurking.

Bernard went to host heaven meets Akecheta worked through thousands of simulation to come up with a plan to save everyone in real world - then starts work with Stubbs meeting up with some new people looking for a weapon and Charlotte/Dolores is hunting this group.

Dolores/Hale and host man in black are replacing humans so they can get what they want and people around Caleb - though I don't know why yet.

Such a shame, Westworld season 1 was amazing but has gone down hill ever since. I have tried so hard to stay with it but have finally admitted defeat and given up - so confusing!

MercurialMonday · 19/07/2022 11:35

I'm liking series 4 more than series 3 and I found series 3 less confusing than series 2 but less engaging.

I did like the bit in the new park when they thought they'd got down to lower level and it turned out it was still the park recreating some of the bloody first park events.

I have thought about watching this but it seems hard work after a days work, I have seen trailers it looks visually stunning but is it easy to follow or get invested in ?

MuffinMcLayLikeABundleOfHay · 20/07/2022 20:23

Season three was terrible. I never want to see one of those ridiculous futuristic cars again. The whole series was absolute rubbish.

OnlyTheBravest · 29/07/2022 00:50

I think season 3 tried to go in a new direction but missed the mark. Season 4 is much better and if you get to ep 4 & 5 it makes a lot more sense.

It is definitely is one of those shows that you need to rewatch to fully get it.

I'm really enjoying season 4 I have to say. The lates episode explains what's going on and the different timelines.

nokitchen · 09/08/2022 15:51

Loving this series. Especially the end of the episode shown on Monday . The man in black was fantastic.

Qlorex · 09/08/2022 16:11

I'm a bit confused about what Caleb is?

What is the difference between Hosts and Humans that have been replicated many times now? Did Hale find some way of uploading a human mind onto a Peral and then just stick it in a host body as normal?

And why is Christina not in that world? Is it just a smulation? Where is the real world then? The one with rehoboam and all that stuff.

MercurialMonday · 09/08/2022 16:35

I'm not sure where Christina is or how Teddy got there as well.

I did think Caleb was like James Delos in the first park - a human copied into a host which after a time breaks down - hence why the episode he was getting to radio to call his daughter - the older copies he spoke to in cell next to himself weren't as sane and there was some limb shaking in various Caleb's.

As for Caleb data - not sure previous system data, he'd visited the second park where they has scanners around - (Bernard had Caleb daughter stand in front of one) and he died in from of a Hale host - any of those but that data now copied onto a pearl.

I've also no idea what the plan to save hosts/people actually is - and did Bernard go to the gate to host heaven when he died - was he in the real world or still in simulation - is that why he opened the gate again.

I am enjoying season 4 though.

I've got it on record, but honestly can't be bothered as it's too confusing. It's for the delete button I'm afraid. Pity as it's gloriously stylish and clever, but just can't give it the head room

nokitchen · 18/08/2022 19:44

Finished it last night. I really enjoyed it. As always William made the series for me.

Topgub · 18/08/2022 22:40

Oooh.

I didnt know anyone else was still watching!

I've recorded series 4 but not started yet.

Was mostly baffled by the first 3 lol but also thought that individual episodes of series 1 and 2 were the best TV I had seen

nokitchen · 19/08/2022 07:19

Stick with it.

OnlyTheBravest · 19/08/2022 21:31

Just watched finale. Awesome.

Stick with season 4. Midway through the series the first few episodes make far more sense.

Hoping they renew for season 5.
