Loved Wet Leg and St Vincent so far - enjoying Billie Ellish right now.

Been to the festival 5 times and it's great fun but I am enjoying being indoors and comfy and warm and clean - must be getting old!

Did he just say 'let the dogging commence?' Grin

TheMoth I'm 58 and still as passionate about music as ever (and cant stand Ed Sheeran) does that give you any hope? Grin

Yes!

One of the kids in school asked who my favourite band is. I said currently, I'm really enjoying The Mysterines and Amyl and the Sniffers.

They said Oasis.

I was like, why am into bands that really, should be for young people to bounce around to? Or is it that I like them because they sound like bands I used to bounce around to?

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2022 22:04

I met a couple of 18 year olds on holiday and they liked 80 s music
I was a bit surprised to be honest !

PuppyMonkey · 25/06/2022 22:04

i hate the way they’ve done the Glastonbury coverage this year. Having to search through iplayer and watch Noel Gallagher on BBC2 while we know Macca is playing live on the Pyramid Stage. I mean I don’t really like Paul McCartney any more but it would be nice to Tweet along with it live for a laugh.

Can you imagine if they did this with football World Cup or etc - yeah we’ll not show it live, we’ll edit it and put it on iplayer and you select the bits you want to see. What a letdown.

Don't Look Back in Anger
Reminds me of the brilliant Our Friends in the North

Romeiswheretheheartis · 25/06/2022 22:04

Noel's a much better singer than Liam - these songs all sound far better than when Liam was whining all over them.

TheDogsMother · 25/06/2022 22:06

I was just looking at some of the audience for Noel. Most wouldn't have been born when Oasis were on the scene and might have been about 10 when High Flying Birds came on the scene. Amazing really.

I've just said same to DH.

I've just realised I do actually like oasis songs and that they are really well written. It's bloody Liam and that awful whiny voice that I detest.

RampantIvy · 25/06/2022 22:06

I agree @Romeiswheretheheartis.
Loved this set

MarshaBradyo · 25/06/2022 22:06

Watching now

Noel doing a great job love this one

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2022 22:06

The age demographic is huge !
Good to see isn't it?
He was brilliant..

Floralnomad · 25/06/2022 22:07

Noel Gallagher - excellent , best set of the weekend by far .

Yep! He was cool
Love his band

weebarra · 25/06/2022 22:08

Noel has been great. DH is moaning that it's all oasis songs but I pointed out that he did write them all.

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2022 22:09

Talented lad isn't he?
Matured as his aged too.

Jellykat · 25/06/2022 22:09

Agree! From 8 to at least 65 singing along! thats unifying i'd say..
Maccas set is 2.5 hours long they were saying on Radio 2, cant be surely??

Izzy24 · 25/06/2022 22:09

So annoying

I think he did!

I have watched Billie Eilish, Wolf Alice and Crowded House and have loved all of them. Only caught the end of Noel's set but really enjoyed it. So much better than Oasis, who I loved back in the day.
I need to catch up on so many which I will do through the week, namely J&MC, Wet Leg, Teleman, Foals, plus some others I've forgotten about. Hope to catch Pet Shop Boys tomorrow. I want to try and see some of the dance sets like Chemical Brothers, but that was a dj set and not them from what I understand

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2022 22:10

What's the story is one of my favorite albums.
It is a classic.

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2022 22:11

I think one of the chemical brothers caught covid , so not playing this year

Jellykat · 25/06/2022 22:13

Arent Groove Armada playing longtompot? that should be fab

lolil · 25/06/2022 22:13

Noel is my favourite so far. By an absolute mile.

Slightly ironic that as a 18/19/20 year old I would have switched oasis off Blush

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2022 22:14

Burna boy , he is pretty good too!
Never heard of him

MsRinky · 25/06/2022 22:14

@Jellykat the flag with the "3 panthers" is the 70s iteration of the Wolverhampton Wanderers flag. I've been going to festivals for over 30 years now, and there is always a WW flag somewhere...
