We studied some of the short stories in GCSE English. Seem some of the re runs on Sky Arts. Blimey, they haven't aged well. Husbands being verbally abusive to their wives as standard. Also, the program seems very class biased.

I remember liking them.

Wasn't it Roald Dahl short stories mainly?

That's right @moofolk

I have used them as an opportunity to show my teens the attitudes that definitely existed as being okay and perfectly normal and why some people have grown up thinking it’s ok.
(On a side note Often when people are shown driving in the old dramas it’s actually hilarious!)

Used to watch these many a moon ago and loved the twist in them but saw one recently and the posh husband was a right old shit bossing his wife around, anyway he was always making them late for the airport and then it showed him dead in the lift in their house because of his behavior, served him right.

I'm really enjoying the re-runs on Sky. Mind you, I'm old enough to remember some of them being originally shown.

I love the Christmas one (The Party) which has a real 1970s Christmas vibe.
