I'm towards the end of episode one and I am hooked!
I've just watched the episode where (SPOILERS) William does and it was so beautifully put together. The music, the shots... ahhh so heart wrenching! I was balling! Amazing acting!

Safe to say I'm really going to enjoy working way through this one. I hate to say it but I find Rebecca abit annoying... I feel like Jack is most certainly painted as the hero and she ungreatful but o imagine this will develop over the season!

Anyone else currently watching?

Yeah any long running series has it’s ups and downs so stick with it and you’ll love it again. I watch a looooot of TV and this is one of my all time fave shows ever. I’ve watched it all twice and definitely going to do it again. My favourite characters are Toby and Jack, even though Jack has his flaws he reminds me of my dad back in the 70s with his beard and being all lovely to his wife and kids 😭

Ok so you were all right, season 4 got really good again 😍
But season 5 is off to a slower start. I just wish they would take a step back from this race storyline with Randall. There's nothing else to him then his race and it's just getting abit much 🙈

I very recently binge watched the whole lot and I felt the same about season four.... I found that I was so eager to get to the end to see what happened/before someone spoiled it for me that I sort of rushed through the last couple of seasons! I'll definitely go back and watch from the beginning again.

I think one of the main things I loved about it was in the flash back episodes...Kevin on his game boy, their yearly summer trip to spend the entire day by the pool..... it is so representative of my own childhood! Makes me yearn to recreate those days with my own kids with no electronics etc!

Agree OP it all got a bit too focussed on Randall for a while there. I like him but he and Beth can be a bit too good to be true sometimes.

roarfeckingroarr · 28/06/2022 22:20

Where can you watch it?

niki26 · 28/06/2022 22:27

@roarfeckingroarr I actually watched it on Disney +

Spottybotty20 · 28/06/2022 22:33

I’m just starting season 6 and have been binging it over the last month.

I am genuinely going to start it again from the beginning as soon as it ends, I love it!

Where can you watch it?

I would like to know this as I started it about a month ago - I swear I was watching on Netflix but when I went back to continue, it’s not on there anymore!

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 28/06/2022 22:48

I love Beth. She is my favourite character along with Toby. The big three I can take or leave tbh, same with Rebecca and Jack but the show is about them all and it just works.

Vallmo47 · 28/06/2022 22:51

Amazing programme. Amazing.

sunshineandshowers40 · 28/06/2022 22:55

@Cantanka @roarfeckingroarr Prime and Disney

Does anyone else think they got their main story lines from Friends?!

Lighthearted, but … there’s an episode where Phoebe comes from a psychic reading, bummed that she’s going to die before the end of the week. And she says her psychic predicted she’d have triplets - but one of them would be black.

And then there is much mirth when Ross and Rachel hire a male nanny, and Chandler refers to him as a ‘manny’.

That aside - it’s a great series. A wee bit soap opera-ish in parts. And some of the characters do have a tendency towards the very annoying. Also loved Beth and Toby.

Spoilers!!!

So I've just finished watching it and I loved it!
Don't get me wrong I have a few issues with it... I thought pretty much all of season 5 and the constant Covid references was very boring.... but it was such an amazing show! Justin Hartley is an absolutely amazing actor! I also have a huge crush on beard Milo... not the mustache version 😅
The music throughout was perfect too. I've downloaded so many of the songs 🙈

I don't know what to watch now, I feel like I want to watch something the same with the same cast.

SPOILERS

I'm a bit late to the party but I've just binge watched the whole thing and wow... definitely one of my favorite shows ever. It was all done so beautifully.

I'm also team Toby and Beth as favorite characters, as well as William.

I thought it was well written how the Big 3 were unlikeable in a lot of ways, but had their redeeming qualities. They all felt like very realistic protagonists.

I also found the covid episodes a bit annoying, they made too much of a point of emphasizing safety measures, like two characters meet up and say "don't worry! I've been self isolating for 14 days and had my shots", those parts felt very unnatural.

One of the biggest shocks for me was Kate and Toby's divorce. When it was revealed she was re-marrying, I kept wondering how they were going to make us not want Katoby together, and I like that the writers didn't do that. I was watching the whole thing wanting them to work things out, so their divorce just felt really sad, but again that's more realistic.

The penultimate episode with the train was probably my favorite episode. It was so emotional and beautifully shot. This show sort of became my life for a while and I'm not sure what to do with myself now! I genuinely feel like I'm gonna miss the characters.

I actually feel the same about the void. I started watching Gilmore girls last night purely because milk is in it and it's just not the same 🙈
However i was happy to see Kate and Toby end! His character changed a lot, I found him very resentful towards Kate which reminded me a lot of my ex so I was not team Kate and Toby at all 🙈
Loved Sophie and Kevin though. Wish I could have seen more of them together!
The Covid era was awful. Maybe it's just too fresh to relive all of that 🙈

That's a fair point re Kate and Toby. I think they both changed and grew apart and became incompatible, and then resented each other for it. Which is a common and relatable relationship dynamic. They were definitely better off ending things. I didn't really like her with Philip though. I liked him as a character, but they didn't have as much chemistry as she had with Toby in the beginning.

I kinda like Sophie and Kevin but objectively there were a lot of red flags. Him cheating on her, then practically harassing her to give him a second chance. I just kept thinking "gosh if this was a mumsnet thread we'd all be telling her to run the other way!" 😂
