My all time favourite film!

I thought it was searing social comment when it first came out. Now I think it’s quite mocking of working class / lower middle class values. How dare they have a wine and cheese evening if they can’t pronounce some words properly. Patronising and unkind.

Thanks op, I've never seen this but wanted to. I could never find it anywhere. Will watch on catch up.

I shouldn't really be eating these, I had a big tea

I need to watch it again re mocking.

I last saw it as a stage version maybe 10 years ago or more, and loved it then. I grew up lower middle class in a new town in Essex in the 1970s and it's always made me laugh.

Why are the husbands in it so unhappy?

stepuporshutup · 03/06/2022 21:53

Op thank you so much I love it I remember laughing so much at this that it woke my dh up and he shouted at me😂
