I'm getting ready for it too. I do love a bit of ice dancing and yes, its probably got something to do with the 1984 winter Oympics!

I will be supporting Steve Backley, he's a local lad. At least his parents still live here and he went to school with my DB!

For the girls, I can't remember who's doing it at all!

dd is beside herself with excitement and has been asking 'is dancing on ice on?' since this morning, last year was brilliant as it was that lovely moment where she was allowed to stay up a little longe r and we would snuggle up on the sofa eating biscuits and drinking hot choc.

can't wait...!

lazarou · 13/01/2008 17:07

What time is it on?

happycherrycake · 13/01/2008 17:08

theslownorris · 13/01/2008 18:11

Dd1 and I are fans too .
Maureen-interesting you say that about Steve Backley,my mum babysat him a couple of times .

MaureenMLove · 13/01/2008 18:34

Ooh! Are we locals? Steve used to live in a town begining with B! I still live there!

Bomper · 13/01/2008 18:37

I never knew that Maureen!!! I also found out recently that Lee Ryan (I believe he was in Blue) used to go to my dc's school!!

theslownorris · 13/01/2008 18:37

I was born in a place beginning with B,then we lived in W W.(Moved back to Dorset when I was little) I think my parents knew his parents-Dad used to be in the Met.

MaureenMLove · 13/01/2008 18:39

Bomper, he went to BETHS! He was in my brothers class. My dad knew his dad too, Norris, he was in the police. Small world eh?

MaureenMLove · 13/01/2008 18:40

Just noticed the Lee Ryan thing. How exciting! Kbear obviously doesn't know that, her kids go to that school too!

Bomper · 13/01/2008 18:42

Our town is just a hotbed of talent!!!!!

theslownorris · 13/01/2008 18:43

Scary stuff-he might have known my dad too!

MaureenMLove · 13/01/2008 18:52

Maybe...

Don't forget Boy George also lived here and Delia Smith went to that rotten secondary modern in town too! I think there was a cricketer who went to E secondary school too.

And of course the lovely Mick Jagger has a centre named after him!

Bomper · 13/01/2008 18:54

And Kate Bush came from W, and Cheryl Baker!!

Kbear · 13/01/2008 18:54

Are we getting excited about Lee Ryan? Dear God, standards are slipping. Tell me someone fabulous went to the school and I'll leap about with excitement but Lee sodding Ryan? sheeesh.

Bomper and Maureen, don't make me bang your heads together.

Lee Ryan? pah

Kbear · 13/01/2008 18:55

Kbear · 13/01/2008 18:56

OK, I give in with claims to fame... that bloke from the Flash commercial went to my school - Jacko from Brush strokes that no one watched!

theslownorris · 13/01/2008 18:59

Kbear-I know who you mean, apparently a lot of Brush Strokes was filmed in Bournemouth. I didn't recognise him though when I served him in Boots . (He was in town doing panto at the time )

MaureenMLove · 13/01/2008 19:01

MaureenMLove · 13/01/2008 19:09

Right, enough of this nonsense, back to the dancing! Is this Christ (from Hollyoaks) gonna be really good or is he a cocky little sh*t?

Kbear · 13/01/2008 19:11

Christ is in Hollyoaks? - hallelujah!
