Has anyone been re watching the classic series Band of gold written by Kay mellor which is on ITV hub at the moment. I remember watch this back in the 90's forgotten how good it was. who can forget chicken man and his marigolds! 😆

Yes! I remember it well, good series!

I'd forgotten about it, but when I read your post that man and his marigolds was the first thing that come to mind!!

Tempted to rewatch now!

All 3 series are currently on ITV hub, I think they're showing them following the recent death of writer Kay Mellor. R.I.P
Fabulous drama definitely worth a re-watch.
I was 16 when it first aired in the 90s and working in my first job I remember us laughing in work about the marigolds man. Young actress Samantha morton was also 16 and started out in that show an excellent actress.

The actor who played the killer in this series was an usher at my wedding. When I first met him he'd recently filmed the 'Birth of the Beatles' and bought a souvenir back with him.

The series have been available on the hub preceding Kay Mellor's death. I'd been watching Upstairs Downstairs on there a few weeks ago and the Hub suggested it to me as something similar I'd like!

Should have added, the souvenir wasn't one you'd want.

I've been re-watching Band of Gold but didm't realise Upstairs, Downstairs was on - I'll have to have a look. Thanks

One series I'd love to see again is House of Elliott - it was excellent and the clothes and fashions of the 20's were just beautiful! Even if you were handy and wanted to re-create them, I doubt you could get the fabrics very easily now.

I have it on DVD, but haven't watched it for a long time. I will search it out on ITV Hub.

I loved this show, it has some great actors in it.
