Is anyone else watching this? I’ve watched the first four episodes and I’m hooked already, looking forward to four more episodes being released tomorrow. I don’t think I have a favourite player yet but I really like the spice girls twist!

Really enjoying it but think it's due to having Mel B and Emma on it. Not sure I'll continue to watch after they are gone but enjoying it at the moment. I think that Yu Ling and Bru might be my favourites so far!

Thanks for starting thread.
Loving Mel B and Emma, and how they interact with each other.

When they talked about gigging every night in the 90s and then agreed how amazing it was, was such a lovely moment.

Of the actually contestants I would like to hear more from the basketball woman and Bru but they don't seem to be making enough friends so might not last.

Not keen on the first two influencers, maybe as the chap playing himself sounds like Kalen Allen and I keep looking up and being surprised it's someone else. And the one playing his mother doesn't seem to be too good at it.

Nosetickle · 11/05/2022 07:23

Yes the one playing his mother isn’t good is he, he is only marginally better than the one playing her father! I’m not sure how long he will last. I’m disappointed there aren’t any genuine older people in there. Except Emma and Mel B who are awesome. I find myself surprised that Baby seems to be the dominant one of the two. I really like their dynamic together though, they seem genuinely close and down to earth.

I’ve are agree Yu Ling and Bru look promising and I also like the basketball woman whose name I’ve forgotten, just nobody is particularly standing out to me yet. It’s early days though. I hope I get the chance to watch the next ones soon. I’m glad to have found others that enjoy it! Does anyone know if there’s a new uk series in the pipeline?

I think channel 4 said no more UK series. I don't know if that means Netflix could get one made.

Nosetickle · 11/05/2022 10:55

To be honest I do find the USA/Netflix ones less brutal and a more gentle watch somehow. I wonder why that is. The last UK one was particularly savage if I remember correctly.

It was a brutal one between The strategies and catfish flirting. But did give us Dozza and Uncle Syed.

Agree about the Emma Mel dynamic, they do seem to be friends, they're excited for the other players to win some money and seem really happy to have time to hang out together.

iframedrogerrabbit · 11/05/2022 21:59

Just watched the latest episode. Loved Mel and Emma's enthusiasm for adding to the prize fund and their dynamic was great! Oh yeah, Crissa. She is fun. A bit wacky but seems nice.

Am not keen on new guy Nathan. Also, agree that Parker who played her dad was pretty terrible, with the not knowing what memoirs meant! Carol aka her son isn't doing too well. People def know that she isn't actually who she says she is.

Even though this was Mel and Emma's last episode I am too invested in it so will have to keep watching to see who wins.

jay55 · 12/05/2022 12:35

Crissa did a Nithin, very friendly with a very popular player, totally neglecting having chats with other players. So forgotten.

Frank is reminding me of how Andy played in the last UK series, he drops big personal bombs on people to fake closeness. And is very good at making sure he talks to as many people as he can. He's a smarter player than I first thought.

Nosetickle · 17/05/2022 20:18

It’s been a busy week and I’ve only just caught up with the latest circle episode. I’m really enjoying it. I really like Yu-Ling and I liked the virus twist getting them all to save each other in a chain. I wonder who will go, I don’t really mind between the two it could be. Will the next episodes include the final?

OP posts:
iframedrogerrabbit · 17/05/2022 21:19

I think there are a few episodes left.

Alyssa will be gutted if she leaves!! She thinks that she is pretty popular but evidently not! Yeah, Yu Ling for me to win at the moment.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/05/2022 21:21

Season 1 of the British version was brilliant

I'm enjoying this season enough to keep watching, but if you are new to it, find season 1 (uk) on Channel 4.

jay55 · 18/05/2022 12:24

I think everything but the finale will be out today.

I don't mind who goes either. Or who wins.

Have to say the catfish are not of a good standard this series.

Nosetickle · 18/05/2022 22:24

Just caught up with this week’s batch and annoyed they left it on a cliffhanger but then in the preview of the final they give it away who stays! What was the point in the cliffhanger?

Anyway… I like Frank, Yu-Ling and Bru the best so want/wanted one of them to win. Nathan is playing the game well but not in a likeable way. I like Imani and Everson but as they came in late I never feel like they deserve to win which maybe isn’t fair. Rachel I like but not sure she deserves to win as she’s not been that entertaining but she seems like a nicer and genuine person. All but one of the blockings I’ve been happy with. Frank makes me laugh he’s so expressive!

Bring on the final even though I know the result of the cliffhanger!

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz I agree about the UK season one being brilliant, and season two I think was even better!

OP posts:
jay55 · 19/05/2022 16:32

That preview was so annoying!! But also welcome to end the cliffhanger.

This series had no players returning as catfish and it felt like fewer ratings/blockings.

I really like Frank now, I wasn't sure how bitchy he was being, or how much was just his accent.
I think he's been quite genuine, or as you can be and still be there.

jay55 · 25/05/2022 13:47

Anyone watched the finale?

TottersBlankly · 25/05/2022 14:40

Watching the finale now.

Found this season disappointing, despite Spiciness. All the contestants seem shallow and cartoonish. And the production / direction is weird - not even an attempt to show them being ‘normal’ and pottering about in their flats. We only ever saw them declaiming to the cameras, so it all felt artificial.

Lots of screaming in the meet-up room at the moment. Hmm

TottersBlankly · 25/05/2022 15:04

The right cartoon character won, though! Grin

jay55 · 25/05/2022 15:50

The first girl eliminated looked so different I didn't recognise her at all.

I was really worried when it got down to the final two, but the right one won for sure. Their reaction was so genuine.

Agree it wasn't a stellar series. I wish the cruise guy had been in from the start, I wish Bru had found someone to riff off. And they needed some decent catfish.

iframedrogerrabbit · 25/05/2022 23:33

Everyone was just so loud!! Am glad he won to be honest. It was good fun. Would've liked Emma and Mel to have made an extra appearance at the end! Even through video link. I think Bru came out of it really well, seemed like a really nice, fun guy. Oh well, that's it I suppose. Thanks for the posts 👍🏻

Nosetickle · 26/05/2022 22:14

I’ve just watched the final and pleased with the results, and the cliffhanger in the penultimate episode wasn’t ruined after all! I really want to know how they all voted in the final ratings though and wish they’d reveal that at the end. Trevor/Imani played a blinder to come in so late and do so well!

Anyone else notice how Parker was acting all shocked and exclaiming "omg" when momma carol walked in???? She went to his apartment when she was blocked so she already knew!!
