Does anyone else just rewatch series they’ve seen over and over rather than watching anything new?

I’ve tried to get into new series but I get halfway through an episode and think it’s rubbish/boring!

Does anyone have any suggestions of new series that are actually good?

I like Greys Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family and Friends of course.

I’m on maternity leave and have too much time to watch TV 😂

I do this too! Think I just like the familiarity- like putting on an old pair of shoes. Ive watched Downton 3 times, This Is Us 4 times and Crazy Ex Girlfriend 4 or 5 times, plus love the odd episode of SATC or Friends whenever I stumble across them.

If you have Apple TV Ted Lasso is surprisingly brilliant (watched twice!) and I’m now watching Your Honour on Now TV from Sky Atlantic - there was always loads of good stuff on Atlantic. I don’t have Sky anymore but luckily Now TV have Atlantic programs on.

Can also recommend Below Deck for some lighthearted ‘reality’ fluff.

Also Dead to Me and Good Girls (first couple of series anyway)

Ahh I really wanted to give Ted Lasso a try but my free trial ran out and I can’t bring myself ti pay for another subscription fee (Netflix, Amazon, Disney+)!

I like This is Us but I really have to be in the mood for it. Totally agree about Good Girls - watched the first 2 series back to back, 3rd was bearable but I only made it a couple of episodes into the 4th because it annoyed me too much!

Currently rewatching Grace & Frankie so I can enjoy the whole series with the new episodes. After that I think I need to venture out into something new. Thanks for your suggestions 😊

I don't do this very often but have watched all of "Crazy ex girlfriend " several times 😂

My mum watches Gilmore girls over and over and over and it’s got a lot of series. I found it hard to get through one episode it was so boring! Have you got Netflix? I’d recommend Firefly Lane and Maid as good series to watch.

I did this with The a thick of It, two episodes every day to unwind when I came home from work.

Now I am trying not to over--watch Ghosts.

NightmareSlashDelightful · 06/05/2022 12:52

Yeah sometimes. I've probably watched the first six series of Frasier about three times.

With drama I tend to only watch things once, though.

eddiemairswife · 06/05/2022 12:56

Midsomer Murders is comfort TV.

Blessmyears · 06/05/2022 13:06

Have you ever seen Weeds OP? They've just put all 8 seasons on All4. It's about marijuana production but there's something about it that reminds me of Desperate Housewives, which is why I've mentioned it Smile But yes I watch stuff over and over, Afterlife and Derek atm but also Dinnerladies, Jam & Jerusalem, Gavin and Stacey are all comfort viewing for me.

OvOvO · 06/05/2022 13:25

I must watch the entire box set of SATC and Pride & Prejudice at least 3 times per year, also re watch episodes of Midsommer Murders, Inspector Morse, Lewis and Downton. I think as I get older my patience and attention span for new stuff is waning Smile

itsmeagainlol · 06/05/2022 15:17

No, I'm bored witless if I know what's coming next, although I'm going to (one day) break that rule and watch game of thrones again.

Honeybae · 06/05/2022 15:46

@Nosetickle I’ve seen Maid and loved it! I’ll check out Firefly Lane 😊

@Blessmyears I’ll try Weeds, I vaguely remember it being on TV quite late a few years ago and I think I liked it. Loved Afterlife, I should try Derek too!

@OvOvO totally get that, I think because I’ve got my baby to look after as well if I miss something I can’t be bothered to rewind and then I lose the plot. I’ve never watched Downton, perhaps I should try that too.
