I loved this when it first came out so I've just started watching again. Any other fans or anyone watching for the first time?

I loved this! Is it on itv hub? Or on weekly?

FromOurHatsToOurFeet · 10/04/2022 15:03

I really don't get why they made Virgin River rather than make another series of this. It's the same plot! They even have the same actor playing the same doctor role, in almost exactly the same surgery building!

BrieAndChilli · 10/04/2022 15:11

I watched the first 2 seasons and then it disappeared so I’ve been looking for it on the streaming apps for ages!! (Can’t justify paying to watch it!!)
I’ve just binged the first 5 episodes today (got covid!!) and am frustrated that it’s an episode a day as can’t binge anymore!!

BrieAndChilli · 10/04/2022 15:12

@FromOurHatsToOurFeet DH said isn’t that doctor in something else you watch and isn’t he also a doctor?!

1000yellowdaisies · 10/04/2022 15:13

I havent seen this but i really want to. Its filmed in the same set as they filmed Gilmore Girls :)

AmandaStaveleysBlackNWhiteArmy · 10/04/2022 15:20

I loved Hart of Dixie. Totally agree about the Virgin River point.

Booksandwine80 · 10/04/2022 15:23

I’ve seen this ages ago I think, is it Sophia bush or am I thinking of something else?

FindMeInTheSunshine · 10/04/2022 16:03

On, I loved that. Now going to have to watch Virgin River if it's effectively the same thing!

BrieAndChilli · 10/04/2022 16:24

@FindMeInTheSunshine virgin river is like hart of Dixie but they are all 15 years older with more baggage!!

MinglingFlamingo · 10/04/2022 17:42

Hart of Dixie and Virgin are exactly the same plot with the same bloke playing the overbearing doctor. Only difference is that Hart of Dixie isn't all Southern Belle and there's not that annoying Lemon girl

JellyBunny · 10/04/2022 18:20

It's on Hun! 4 seasons - not sure if it's on weekly as well!

It is very similar to Virgin River, even same doctor partner, but it's not exactly the same so I can justify watching both! Probably would anyway!

There are other differences like the main love interest situation, she is a surgeon not a nurse practitioner, she had two love interests, main character in VR had lost her fiancé and a baby girl whereas HoD character is a bit more fresh faced city youngster?

Virgin River is based on books though so I think that's how that came to be.

It's filmed in the same place as Gilmore Girld and Pretty Little Liars. I have been Grin

@Booksandwine80 Main character is played by Rachel Bilson

Bottom line is I've been watching it all day Grin

@BrieAndChilli Same! I don't know how far I got with it as it was years ago.

What do you mean it's an episode a day?

Booksandwine80 · 10/04/2022 19:06

@JellyBunny

Now you’ve said I remember it was her. Might have to rewatch Smile

JellyBunny · 10/04/2022 20:57

Yes watch and then we can discuss as if for the first time!

I'm on S1 E7

I found it on sky catch up which is doing one episode a day but have just downloaded the actual itv app and found all the seasons Grin let the binging carry on!

OrangeBananaFish · 10/04/2022 21:04

I loved loved loved this. Apart from the final episode. It felt rushed. You can tell that they wanted to finish the story and were cancelled so had to, but it kind of ruins it a bit for me.

Love Virgin River and Gilmore girls too.

Inkanta · 10/04/2022 21:06

I love Tim Mattheson who plays the doctor.

JaneJeffer · 10/04/2022 22:08

I loved Hart of Dixie. I don't think Virgin River could be as good with no Wade Kinsella!

over2021 · 11/04/2022 18:54

It won't play on my itv player Sad

JellyBunny · 11/04/2022 19:45

Oh @over2021

Is it just this show that won't work? 🤔
