Anyone watching? I don't remember seeing this when it was on TV I assume it was on BBC..anyway I am very much enjoying it (nothing to do with Tom Hardy being in it at all WinkBlush) the cast is excellent, the fab Tom Hollander & Stephen Graham & Jonathan Pryce who love in most things....anyone else watching??

Absolutely LOVED it. Brilliant.

Mmmm what's it about, tbh, I'm crap at explaining storylines, and this is a complicated one but I'll try give a synopsis!! And yes it is a bit dark and gloomy but then I love dark & gloomyGrin
Right I've taken this from t'internet!

Set in 1814, Taboo follows James Keziah Delaney, a man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed. Believed to be long dead, he returns home to London from Africa to inherit what is left of his father's shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself.

I remember this and I loved it. Always hoped there would be a second series. I'll definitely be rewatching on Netflix.

I was doing some googling as I'd love there to be a second series and looks like they are going to do one this year 🤗🤞

Very dark and gloomy, it’s excellent. Every time I see Tom Hardy in anything else I think stop wasting your time on this and make that second series of Taboo.

EV117 · 01/04/2022 15:55

Love it, I’ve seen it a few times actually. It was on the tv about three or four years go and it’s been on bbc I player for quite a while so rewatched it once or twice during lockdown. They need to make another series! But I’ve read it’s difficult to get all those great actors schedules together.

Faircastle · 01/04/2022 15:57

Have just started watching it. I'm finding it quite interesting so far. Great cast.

3kidsareenough · 01/04/2022 15:58

Yeah he is brilliant in this. I wouldn't have watched a lot of his films or shows, didn't think too much of him although I think his character in Peaky Blinders is one of the best things about the show. I thought he was terrible as Heathcliff in the adaptation I watched years ago, he wasn't nearly savage enough, if that makes sense, which is surprising as he can play that type of character really well in this.

We were promised season 2, it just never appeared much to my disgust!

SuburbanCrofter · 01/04/2022 16:25

Loved it. Hope they make a second series, although Jessie Buckley seems a bit busy at the moment!
