What is the best season to begin watching for my son becuase be might think the first one looks dated and I heard the new one is rubbish

Unless he likes “classic tv” (aka my childhood ), i’d start with David Tennant, the 10th doctor.

He can always go back and fill in the gaps if it grabs him.

Start with episode 1 of the new series, Christopher Ecclestone. It's a bit dated in some ways and inconsistent in quality but basically holds up well.
