Our House - spoiler alert anyone else find "witness" implausible?

I've just watched episode 2 of Our House and am wondering if anyone else finds the girl who "witnessed" the accident confusing? It's a dark road with only the three cars involved. She says she witnessed the accident and Bram doesn't even question where she was to witness it. Was she in the other car that overtook him? Bram is convinced the driver of that car was a man so she wasn't driving it. It's an otherwise deserted country road in the dark so where did she suddenly spring from and how would she have known how to find him??? Am I the only one thinking that Bram would have been totally suspicious of her from the start and smelling a rat that there is more to this than her conveniently having seen the accident and making an opportunity out of it? The rest of the series so far is gripping and feels so real but this element of it ruins it for me. Have I missed something or do others also find this implausible that he wouldn't have asked how she witnessed it and where she was at the time?

Definitely! He should of been questioning how she was a witness. Binged watched the whole series yesterday (on maternity). Loved it!

Yes it’s completely implausible that he didn’t question her any further.

But her odd voice & weird, wobbly, ‘aren’t I just soooo sexy’ manner has made me zone out of what that character does! No offence to the actor, presumably it’s written to be played exactly like that - but nah, too grating to watch.

I'm glad it's not just me then! @Timeflyin good to know it's worth watching the whole way through despite this annoying blip in the storyline!
@JoyDivisionOvenGlovesx yes she's so irritating! As you say it's the character and not the actress. Apparently it's based on a book so I'm now tempted to read the book just to see whether it's more plausible in the book and just the way the TV series has decided to adapt it. Can anyone who has read the book throw any light on this? thanks

@Baileyscheesecake , in the book you don't know that the Toby love interest character and man in the cafe are the same person until the very end.

I've watched it all on ITV Hub. All becomes clear, though I suspect he believed she was a witness because she described the accident exactly as it happened.
