Anybody else finding watching 'Chernobyl the lost tapes' almost unbearable?

I can only watch in 10 minute sections, over many days.

Those poor people dying of radiation poisoning, the brave and doomed workers trying to encase the reactor and the emotion on the face of the controller when the robot didn't work. He knew people would have to do the job and he was sending them to their death. Heartbreaking, especially at the moment

I hadn't seen or heard of that... I'll check it out.

I recently watched the series 'Chernobyl' and it was more gripping and horrifying than any series based on fiction.

I did too, and these tapes are following the same lines. Stunning how similar they both are. Sky documentary

You're just looking at the real faces of the men ☹️

Ah, dammit, its only on Sky or Now, neither of which I have... hopefully it'll be available somewhere else in the not too distant.

I hated the way they were all diagnosed with 'radio-phobia' rather than properly checked for radiation levels! And as for the birth defects...that was very upsetting.

Thanks - I’ll definitely take a look at this.

I recommend the (readable) book, Midnight at Chernobyl
