Picard Season 2 now showing on Amazon Prime.

Watched it today, loving Q & Guinan!

LOVED episode 1.

Q made me smile as soon as I heard his voice!

Just managed to watch ep 1.
Excellent start to the series and hurrah - The Borg are back, re-interpreted and more menacing than ever.

Hmmm. Dare I say it, but Picard is looking a bit elderly now. I don't expect some dashing young hero obviously, but he does occasionally look as though he need a hand up from his chair which is odd considering he's now a synth, I guess it's a pointer as to how the series is seen as character driven rather than some action themed production.

I'm not entirely sure why Seven of Nine has been promoted as a gay character. Although I'm really happy how she's moved away from her TNG portrayal (skin tight outfits and high heels) there are plenty of new characters introduced in Picard who could have fulfilled that role if the producers wanted inclusiveness. Her change from a cold, emotionless Borg to someone now fighting for people in need would have been enough of a new beginning.

Still, it's a good intro for the new season and it's encouraging to note that a further two series have been commissioned.

Looking forward to May and the arrival of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I suspect it's because lots of male viewers like the idea of her being gay. Her character was introduced to Voyager originally for the sex appeal - much to the disgust of Kate Mulgrew - and I don't think that's really changed. Representation plus titillation is a winning combo in Hollywood these days, the former making the latter palatable to modern audiences.

Not had chance to watch yet but looking forward to Q and Guinan being in it.

Only found out the other day that the boy who played Q Junior, his son in Voyager, is his actual son.

I actually yelped when I saw Q!.. Season 2 has got off to a great start!

Is anyone else still watching this? We are really enjoying it. I hope Rios is reunited with his comms.

I love it. It is so ridiculously silly and so perfectly serious at the same time. This is why we love Star Trek ♥️
